Well, I haven't been here since the Dark Ages, grandpa R4. OOPS! Let me be respectful... I have not been here since the beginnings of DataLounge my most wise and respected Eldergay. OP’s photo has a very feminine tattoo however. Ruins it for me. I don’t hate ink. Just has to not be feminine or generic and placed correctly. Too many cheesy arm bands and tramp stamps floating around on guys. Boner killer.

I think it always depends on the tattoos.
To me, OP's is gorgeous, and so are r2's. They are thoughtfully executed and thoughtfully placed on heir bodies, and enhance their muscularity
r35 and r36 just have random images placed willy-nilly over their bodies. Their tattoos are not attractive, and detract from their muscularity.

I wonder if these men realize what happens to tattoos as they age? I agree, R44, that the tattoo on the guy's butt in OP's link is gorgeous. But no matter how many squats he keeps doing, he will enter the autumn of his life. And as his plump cheeks ripen and ever so gradually wilt that lovely tree will not in turn shed its leaves. It will be a sad reminder of a once lush mounds.

R44 has it spot on. Some guys get tattoos that are well-placed and enhance their physique, whereas most guys just get random stuff graffitied on their body. There is a massive difference between the two and I can find the former attractive when done well, but the latter is definitely a turn off.
Think of someone like porn star Francois Sagat, who I once thought was the sexiest man alive - he has continue to get random tattooes all over of weird flying ants and insects and lines and has definitely really tanked his attractiveness to me.
I also am really not a fan of any chest tattoos, I never think they look good. And too many colours is also off-putting to me.

I agree with you, R97. It's pretty much the same with many of these image threads. I think that they should be viewed as inspiration objectives/goals to everyone. They show that you must do some modicum of cardio and weightlifting just to show some type of a shape. Then you have to be confident. If you like yourself, and think you are sexy, then that attitude will emanate. I would tell you that R91, R92, isn't my type at all! But, there is just "something" that is very sexy about him. Well, he has some physical shape and he has a confident attitude and it emanates even through his pictures.

The main problem I have with tattoos is that at first glance, they make a guy look super bad ass and hot. However, once you really look at him, you notice his flaws and then he just looks like a dork with ink. On really super hot guys, really well done tattoos can enhance the appearance.
To me it’s kind of like ultra styled, cool hair. It usually looks better in magazines than in person.

Unfortunately piercings and tattoos don't age well. Skin stretches and sags with time and changes in weight. The inking also loses its crispness What may look hot now, depending on one's taste, is likely to be not hot in a decade.

This thread has absolutely confirmed to me that less is more when it comes to tattoos. A couple of well-placed, well-designed (so that they fit in with the structure of the body/musculature as opposed to being just stamped on randomly) and single-colour (black) can be very hot and really can enhance a physique, but far far too many men go absolutely overboard and overdo it for some reason. I've heard that tattoos can be addictive and it does seem like that is the case, no one knows when to stop.
Oh and chest tattoos are definitely a huge turn-off for me, as is anything around the genitals/asshole. Some nice butts on some of these guys though.
