Wow, this is the first time I’ve looked at anything related to her. She’s a terrible lair...there are several examples in that montage where she’s asked directly about her Spanish background, or is just talking about it, where she is clearly struggling with telling the lie. Alec is obviously hamming it up regarding her accent, but he does seem to lie more easily about it than her. It’s pathetic but I can’t be mad about it.

I think this reflects worse on Alec than it does on Hilaria. No one cares that much Hilaria or her "brand," despite their most strenuous efforts to make her happen. Hilaria the famewhore will not happen.
Alec was complicit in all of this. His "Spanglish" comic bits are cringeworthy, then and now. (Sadly, he and Hilaria will undoubtedly get a pass from SNL, as he's a friend of the show and of Lorne's, despite the fact that this is precisely the sort of thing SNL would be mocking back in the day.) He seems to be digging his heels in as this story spreads wider and wider.

Howard Stern addressed the whole debacle on his show last week. He said everyone knew the accent was fake, and bless her heart. He loves to have Alec on his show so the show biz people put up with the muy Lorca senorita .

I think they'll be fine. It was a fun, odd distraction during a stressful time in America, but things have escalated since then, and Hilaria's faux personality's fallen by the wayside. Things could get interesting when she decides to make her grand return... if she even does. My question is, would he keep the accent or ditch it altogether?

The whole weeks-long journey from the U.S. Capitol riots to Trump leaving office to Joe Biden's historic inauguration as the 46th President of the United States of America really took this story out of the news cycle and the collective-minds of the masses.
