Miss Timmie Chalamet and Miss Bradley Cooper.

by Anonymousreply 74January 9, 2024 3:41 PM

Greta Gerwig. Loved seeing that overrated cunt lose.

by Anonymousreply 2January 8, 2024 4:06 AM

Oh great I found my kindred spirits: miserable cunting trolls. This skank "reporter" lost big. A 4-carat diamond.

Greta Gerwig is such a pretentious, bloviating, twee faux-humble twat. I've loathed her for years. Remember when she tried to pretend that the overrated "Ladybird" was not based on her life, even though it completely mirrored her entire biography? "Dumb cunt" does not suffice in describing her. Seeing "Barbie" win a single award for being a moneymaking heavyweight but zero for any artistic merit is hilarious.

On the flip side, I'm glad to see "Poor Things" and Emma Stone's performance in it get some due credit.

by Anonymousreply 5January 8, 2024 4:18 AM

Greta Gerwig and her pig partner Noah Baumbach. Two cunts.

by Anonymousreply 6January 8, 2024 4:20 AM

No Oscar nom for cunt Chalamet, and Miss Cooper, take note: no Oscar for you.

by Anonymousreply 7January 8, 2024 4:21 AM

About that 4 carat di-mundo ... have a talk with the dumbass that made it, dearie. That should NOT have fallen out unless it happens to be a very old setting. If it's less than a year or so I'd be making a bee-line to the jeweler.

by Anonymousreply 8January 8, 2024 4:25 AM

Marty lost. Marty didn't win. I guess the public isn't smart enough to sit through Marty's almost four-hour movies. It's a shame for Marty.

by Anonymousreply 9January 8, 2024 4:31 AM

Leonardo DiCaprio, he used to have a bigger presence at the globes

by Anonymousreply 11January 8, 2024 4:37 AM

People here shit on Greta Gerwig but act like Emma Stone is some sort of genius.....

by Anonymousreply 14January 8, 2024 5:14 AM

Greta Gerwig is a veritable cat box.

by Anonymousreply 15January 8, 2024 5:16 AM

The Scorsese/Dicaprio duo has become tired. Their peak was The Departed.

by Anonymousreply 16January 8, 2024 5:19 AM

R14 Stone is a solid actress; she delivers the goods, but she’s not pretentious about it. Greta is.

by Anonymousreply 17January 8, 2024 5:27 AM

completely agree, r17. she also doesn't take herself too seriously. she knows her shit stinks, and she doesn't pretend it smells like roses.

by Anonymousreply 18January 8, 2024 5:29 AM

I like Emma but do we really think the Academy voters will be so eager to reward her again? You'd think they'd want to use this opportunity to finally give it to someone like Annette, who's never won, or is Emma undeniable now?

by Anonymousreply 19January 8, 2024 5:39 AM

So I know nothing about Stone’s movie other than what they showed tonight. Is it an Everything Everywhere ripoff?

by Anonymousreply 20January 8, 2024 5:49 AM

R10 Feels like Emma Stone has surpassed her

by Anonymousreply 21January 8, 2024 5:52 AM

I haven't seen it yet either, r20, but I do (generally) like Emma Ston'e's work, and Mark Ruffalo is a bit of a favorite of mine (outside of horrific Superhero movies).

I've been told by a few film aficionados it's very good, so plan on seeing it.

by Anonymousreply 22January 8, 2024 5:52 AM

Emma Stone will lose best actress to Lily Gladstone because woke.

by Anonymousreply 23January 8, 2024 5:57 AM

"she also doesn't take herself too seriously."

Poor Things was pretentious Oscar bait, like everything she does

"Emma Stone will lose best actress to Lily Gladstone because woke."

Republican bashes Lily Gladstone because racism

by Anonymousreply 24January 8, 2024 6:00 AM

R24 She will lose 'Best Them', not best Actress. How dare you ignore her identity.

by Anonymousreply 26January 8, 2024 6:11 AM

I don’t know if we will ever see a white woman win an Oscar again.

by Anonymousreply 27January 8, 2024 6:12 AM

One of her best roles was in the movie Easy A.

I love that movie.

by Anonymousreply 28January 8, 2024 6:13 AM

Society of the Snow was robbed.

by Anonymousreply 29January 8, 2024 6:14 AM

R29 Not this cycle, released after.

R28 First liked her in The Favourite, she went there.

by Anonymousreply 30January 8, 2024 6:48 AM

Yes, r30. She definitely delivered in The Favourite.

But i find her pretty gritty/real in most of her performances.

by Anonymousreply 31January 8, 2024 6:53 AM

^^I didn't see La La Land because of a lack of interest so can't include that.

I said "most of her performances."

by Anonymousreply 32January 8, 2024 6:55 AM

All I want to know is WHEN will they stop subjecting us to that nauseating loser Chalamet?

by Anonymousreply 33January 8, 2024 7:01 AM

R33 Him and Kylie were trying hard to be an it couple but I didn’t fall for it.

by Anonymousreply 34January 8, 2024 7:02 AM

Who is "Him". Is that a Korean name?

by Anonymousreply 35January 8, 2024 7:06 AM

Agreed, r33. Him and stupid ass Jacob Elordi. Also that big-titted girl whose name starts with an 'S' and Billie Eye-lash.

Shut UP about these losers. Taylor Swift should join them all on a 3 hour tour.

by Anonymousreply 36January 8, 2024 7:06 AM

My thing with Timothee is it just feels very forced with him. His appeal. In 50 years from now will people will be gushing about him? I’m still not convinced.

by Anonymousreply 37January 8, 2024 7:09 AM

He's ugly, slight, fey and affected. He thinks he's a Prince. He's not.

by Anonymousreply 38January 8, 2024 7:13 AM

Considering the fact that Barbie earned $1,441,828,022 worldwide, I'm sure not winning the Golden Globe is going to break poor Greta.

by Anonymousreply 39January 8, 2024 7:14 AM

Gerwig was an actress before whatever she's trying to do now (directing). She was not remarkable. Indeed, scrolling through her IMDB acting credits did nothing to jog my memory to whatever movie i first heard of her/saw her.

I guess my first paragraph is meant to illustrate that she's kind of...not remarkable. And i'm surprised she's been made into something OMG-ish. Where's the evidence of her being special? Ladybird was a boring as fuck movie too. All I remember about it is the driving scenes. And I live in the Bay Area.

by Anonymousreply 40January 8, 2024 7:27 AM

R30 What do you mean? Society of the Snow was officially released in 2023. It was relased on Netflix in 2024, but it played in some cinemas before that. It was nominated in best foreign film in this year's Golden Globes, but it lost.

by Anonymousreply 41January 8, 2024 8:22 AM

Clearly biggest loser is Jo Koy. Never heard of him, hope to never hear from him again.

by Anonymousreply 42January 8, 2024 1:07 PM

[quote] Jo Koy

Where the fuck did she come from? LOSER.

by Anonymousreply 44January 8, 2024 1:24 PM

I don’t know anymore if it’s his PR or hers but 20 articles about how they tried to be an it, A list couple. Well they failed and the best moment of the night was seeing him become a three time Golden Globe loser.

by Anonymousreply 45January 8, 2024 1:27 PM

If you haven't seen Poor Things, do it! It's a good time.

Emma Stone is fine, but Mark Ruffalo is really worth the price of admission. He is delightful and deserves all the awards.

by Anonymousreply 46January 8, 2024 1:27 PM

There was nothing nomination worthy about JLaw’s performance. Thrilled to see her lose.

by Anonymousreply 48January 8, 2024 2:39 PM

The Academy awarded Stone too soon with La La Land instead of waiting for her to deliver a worthy performance like she did in Poor Things

by Anonymousreply 49January 8, 2024 2:49 PM

Selena Gomez. For running and bitching to Taylor Swift and Miles Teller’s wife that Kylie Jenner said “no” to her taking a photo with Timothee Chalamet.

by Anonymousreply 50January 8, 2024 3:02 PM

I know Gerwig gets some hate around here, but I have to stick up for her acting career.

Frances Ha is on the best movies of the last 20 years. Her performance in it is exquisite. She was a very find actor before she turned director.

Emma Stone came out strong with Easy A, but I was afraid she was shifting gears and maybe Easy A was an early aberration in her career. She really turned this around and was a knockout in The Favourite.

I haven’t seen Flower Moon, but a friend I trust said despite the runtime, it was very good and Gladstone was excellent.

by Anonymousreply 52January 8, 2024 3:40 PM

R52 Agreed Francis Ha (and GG's performance) was a defining movie of the first decade of the 21st century. Barbie (not even a movie to me, more of a video game) was and accomplishment for GG - just the logistics of the production. 1.4 Billion and counting with "cultural and artistic" intentions - something that will be hard for Oscars to ignore.

Seeing Annette Benning's face when Gladstone was announced... was sad, painful. She was so disappointed and, if I can read lips well enough, said "well, that's that..."

by Anonymousreply 53January 8, 2024 3:53 PM

I freaking love Annette Bening. She delivered an impressive performance in Nyad, but unfortunately, the movie just wasn't that good. I love listening to her speak. San Diego's finest, right there.

by Anonymousreply 54January 8, 2024 4:23 PM

Emma will win the Oscar for Poor Things because she shows her tits in the movie. The old perverts in the Academy love that.

by Anonymousreply 55January 8, 2024 4:51 PM

If that's true, R55, then why didn't Ana De Armas win for BLONDE?

by Anonymousreply 56January 8, 2024 5:08 PM

Emma’s not winning. They won’t want to deal with the outrage if a Native-American doesn’t win.

by Anonymousreply 57January 8, 2024 5:42 PM

R53 isn't even a gay man. He's a bisexual RAPIST who admitted so this past Summer in Response 90 in the linked thread:

[quote]Man Accuses NBA Star Dwight Howard Of Sexual Assault During Wild Threesome™ When I was 19 and confused, I had a pair of sisters over to my house (parents out of town). We smoked a little weed... and decided to take off our clothes and play hide and seek. The older sister (20?) was intelligent and thin. The younger sister (19) was luscious... long dark hair, full breasts, thin waist, ample ass. Beautiful eyes. I was "it" and eventually found her hiding in my parents' bedroom. I held her, we kissed, I felt her breasts and vagina... she was breathing hard. I had an erection. I held her close.. put the head of my dick against. She grabbed my arms, and whispered "no", I pressed into her.... all the way in... she was a virgin and I felt her open. She shook her head, "no"... I pulled out, didn't cum in her.

[quote]I was a young gayling, unclear of what my life was going to be.... I thought "real men" showed their forcefulness. I knew an old girlfriend to others about how passive I was... I thought this revealed my confusions.... It was only in the last "me too" years I reflected: I assaulted that young woman. There was absolutely no justification. It took me 40 years to understand the behavior I thought was expected of me was actually assault. I guess the only way I can make amends is to post the story on a gay board discussion how much permission matters at all stages of an encounter. So, if you are wondering where the trolls are, they are HERE, among us.

[quote] I haven’t seen Flower Moon, but a friend I trust said despite the runtime, it was very good.

Scorsese is a sadist - his no intermission mandate. I don't have urgency issues, but this movie was most memorable as a stress test for the bladder like no other - toward the end it started to affect my vision.

Gladstone was good, but sentiment was a large part of her win. Which is fine, happens all the time.

by Anonymousreply 62January 8, 2024 11:48 PM

It's time for Scorsese to stop with the no intermission mandate and to stop using DiCaprio and DeNiro.

by Anonymousreply 63January 8, 2024 11:54 PM

Nobody gives a shit if they lose a corrupt gg award it’s a party and show off event

by Anonymousreply 64January 9, 2024 12:00 AM

[quote] "Greta Gerwig and her pig partner Noah Baumbach. Two cunts."

R6 = Jennifer Jason Leigh

by Anonymousreply 65January 9, 2024 12:04 AM

R54, I met Annette Bening a few years ago when my friend’s son was in a play with her. Just an exceedingly lovely woman.

by Anonymousreply 66January 9, 2024 12:16 AM

Maybe annette will get a supporting oscar when she plays a grandmother. I don’t love her. Maybe she should’ve won for the liverpool thing. Who knows. R55 and bush!!

by Anonymousreply 67January 9, 2024 2:57 AM

[quote]Margot Robbie!

Dance THAT night away, bitch.

by Anonymousreply 69January 9, 2024 4:03 AM

So basically as long as Yorgos keeps making movies, Emma will get acting work.

by Anonymousreply 70January 9, 2024 6:21 AM

Yorgos certainly caught Springsteen off guard with his stan-dom.

by Anonymousreply 71January 9, 2024 7:29 AM

If Lily wins, will Marlon Brando come on stage and refuse to accept her Oscar on behalf of the plight of the overfed, white man?

by Anonymousreply 72January 9, 2024 7:44 AM

Overall it was a good night in terms of the winners. Perhaps the Globes aren't as star struck as they used to be. Cooper, Swift, Barbie, Robbie, Gosling, JLaw, Blunt, Chalamet, Gerwig, DiCaprio - it was great to see all these overrated hacks lose.

by Anonymousreply 74January 9, 2024 3:41 PM
