Americans can’t handle anything made in a different country, even if it’s in English. At least that’s what the terrestrial networks think. They’re very rigid with that and they show only domestically produced programs and their 30/60 minute time slots are carved in stone. ABC, CBS, and NBC all follow the prime time then 11 o’clock news format then late talk show format religiously as they have for decades. It’s strange like most things in the US. Of course now we’ve got so many streaming options now so who gives a fuck what those fossils do.
