George Michael general discussion thread II

Writer Harper Scott

It really doesn’t help anyone when newspapers print this type of article.

These comments are totally unfounded and when the person responsible for making such claims is someone that will do almost anything for money and or attention, questions need to be asked as to why such an article was allowed to be published!

It strikes me that very little thought is given to those that are most effected by these unsubstantiated claims, mostly George’s family and relations.

I will not go into any lengthy detail here to explain how exactly I know this most recent rubbish from Fadi is exactly that, rubbish and totally untrue, simply because I wish to remain private and dignified, and I have nothing to gain from what I write here, neither do I seek any publicity or any financial reward.

But there comes a time when, after reading regular articles, mostly arising from Fadi, giving such ridiculous and totally unfounded accounts, I cannot and will not sit back and say nothing!

George, over many years, had been a heavy smoker, both of regular tobacco products and of other products. George drank quite heavily and regularly. George used a variety of other pharmaceuticals over many years, not all of which were medically prescribed!

His death, unfortunately and very sadly, was due to his body simply giving up! No suicide, nothing untoward, nothing sinister!

I was fortunate enough to have been considered as a friend of George, we knew each other for many years, but never once did I want any part of his, so called, celebrity lifestyle.

I never accepted any money or gifts from George, despite many offers of both from him.

During all this time of knowing George, I never sold any stories, spread any rumours or indeed discussed him with anyone outside of my immediate family, and even then I always told George what I have said and to who.

None of this is because I am a saint or a martyr etc, but down to one very simple thing, I was his friend!

We live in this so called ‘free world’, so everyone is of course entitled to their own opinion, but unless you actually know the person in question, it is always dangerous to make comments or cast aspersions, without being in possession of the truth.

If you enjoy the music and videos that George created, then surely that should be enough?

So much better to remember anyone in a positive way, rather than have your memories tainted by this distasteful rubbish!

Again, please show some respect for George’s family and relatives and stop giving this particular person, Fadi, a platform on which he is being allowed to tarnish this wonderfully gifted and generous individual.
