Gay Man Found Dead On Train Tracks

Writer Ava Lawson

The remains of a missing 29-year-old Gander man have been recovered, police said Saturday morning.

Brandon Tucker's body was found in a forested area between Gander Lake and the Trans Canada Highway, according to the RCMP.

They say the office of the chief medical examiner has confirmed the remains are Tucker's, but add that the RCMP doesn't suspect foul play.

Tucker was last seen the morning of July 8, when he walked into the woods behind his home. He left his wallet behind. His phone was pinged by a cell tower just outside Gander that afternoon.

His partner, Travis Gleason, previously told CBC News that Tucker was a musician and gamer with a love of reading and comic books. He said his partner's disappearance was "completely out of character."

"Brandon is the sweetest, kindest, most gentle person that you will ever meet," Gleason said at the time.

Police are still scratching their heads wonder WHY he would be at the Train Tracks

Do you have any thought as to why a gay man (with a partner) would hanging around the train tracks, NOT even taking his wallet, but his phone?

A middle aged man who plays with Fantasy and Comic Books is obviously retarded. And troubled.

by Anonymousreply 1August 22, 2022 1:22 AM

29 is middle aged now? Even by DL standards that's a bit much.

Oh, and it's obvious what he was there for and what got him killed.

by Anonymousreply 2August 22, 2022 1:24 AM

[quote] it's obvious what he was there for and what got him killed.

It is NOT obvious to some of us - tell us.

by Anonymousreply 3August 22, 2022 1:25 AM

R1 is a troubled old prick. His apartment smells like cat shit, which is baffling, as he does not have a cat.

by Anonymousreply 4August 22, 2022 1:27 AM

He was a-whorin', darlin'.

by Anonymousreply 5August 22, 2022 1:28 AM

No foul play = suicide. RIP, beyond his pain.

where are train tracks mentioned op?? the railway in newfoundland was decommissioned m/ripped out in 1988.

this poor guy was found in a forested area near a highway which in Newfoundland means a dark two lane road surrounded by vast unfriendly wilderness. He either committed suicide or was drunk and died of exposure. it’s not a place to wander about at night even in the summertime, death from exposure there happens all the time.

Who keeps murdering all these gays with the friendly faces? We have so few!

I bet he got his lanyard caught in something.

by Anonymousreply 23August 22, 2022 4:57 AM

Well there is this-

[quote] Tucker's partner, Travis Gleason, said he has reason to believe Tucker is not in a "great frame of mind" and that there is concern for his mental well-being.

by Anonymousreply 25August 22, 2022 5:26 AM

He looks sweet so I won't make my usual snarky comments.

Phone addicts will murder you for a phone. Never pull one out in sketchy areas.

by Anonymousreply 31August 22, 2022 6:22 AM

DLers are such whores that they think everyone else is a whore too.

Police suspect no foul play, yet they keep talking about grindr hookups & prostitutes.

by Anonymousreply 32August 22, 2022 12:25 PM

Getting murdered by rough trade is a tale as old as time.

by Anonymousreply 35August 22, 2022 12:59 PM

Maybe he was killed by local wildlife. Do we suspect a bear or an otter?

by Anonymousreply 37August 22, 2022 1:03 PM

According to Facebook, Travis said that Brandon's pall bearers are gonna be his second cousins: Bubba-Junior, Billy-Bob, Cephus, Dwayne-Glen, Earl-Boy, and Virgil-Lee. Aunts Earline and Zinnia are going to cater the wake.

by Anonymousreply 38August 22, 2022 1:17 PM

R38 sounds like a dirty Yankee of dubious ethnicity.

by Anonymousreply 39August 22, 2022 1:19 PM

"No foul play" means just that - he was not murdered. He killed himself, hence the police are not looking for suspects nor asked the public's help in trying to find a suspect.

RIP Brandon, sometimes life is too unbearable.

But please seek help if you feel this way - sometimes medication/therapy can help.

by Anonymousreply 40August 22, 2022 5:17 PM

So who do we think killed him? Do you think he had a secret girlfriend who got frustrated waiting for him to leave his partner?

by Anonymousreply 41August 22, 2022 5:28 PM

He suicided R41, are you dense?

by Anonymousreply 42August 22, 2022 5:33 PM

And what evidence R43 do you have that LEO doesn't that supports homicide?

Doesn't seem like his partner Travis/family is talking about finding the murderer. Of course they aren't, there was no murder

by Anonymousreply 44August 22, 2022 5:38 PM

Maybe he was part of a drug smuggling ring and ran afoul of his partners.

by Anonymousreply 45August 22, 2022 5:40 PM

Oh, I get it now. He suicided because no one answered his Grindr and Rentmen messages, right?

by Anonymousreply 46August 22, 2022 5:41 PM

Sad. He had a sweet face and Newfies are the nicest people.

by Anonymousreply 50August 22, 2022 5:47 PM

Wow. so are the police and the paper that mentioned the railroad tracks part of a coverup of the real cause of death? How deep does this go?

This Comic Book Lover was running from the ugly reality of Human Existence.

by Anonymousreply 53August 22, 2022 10:39 PM

by Anonymousreply 54August 22, 2022 10:41 PM

Gander is the little town where many diverted planes carrying thousands of people ended up on 9/11. There’s a musical about it called ‘Come From Away.’

by Anonymousreply 71August 23, 2022 1:28 PM

I think there was a big air force base there in WW2. Something about it's location being a refueling stop for planes as well. I don't remember all the details though. Anyway, the people there are nice.

by Anonymousreply 81August 23, 2022 10:56 PM

Is this the same Gander Lake that's on the island of Saint Pierre and Miquelon? I thought they were still part of France - some odd last vestige of New France. Wiki shows they have a member in the French senate and another in the national assembly. So do they get their law enforcement from the RCMP?

by Anonymousreply 82August 23, 2022 11:12 PM

^^^ Ignore my post and question at R82. I see the islands I'm thinking of are smaller ones adjacent to Newfoundland.
