He was horrible. When he played ‘Frisco in the early ‘90s he didn’t tone down his homophobia one bit, and people milled out of the theater in droves throughout the performance. He was panned by the Bay Area Reporter critic.

He was a hateful little man who couldn’t even handle going bald. When his homophobia and heterosexism became a prominent part of his act, he lost what little credibility he had. No one has been checking for him for decades now. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Apparently his brother impersonated him and got caught. I never found Gallagher funny because of his homophobia and there was always a tense feeling that he would generalize the use of the watermelon sledgehammer.

He was huge in the 80s. He had some witty George Carlin observations about life, but was most known for his Sledge-O-Matic skit.

I remember him as much from from Make Me Laugh as from the watermelon schtick.

The first comic here is cute. I didn’t catch his name. He takes off his shirt to reveal a nice, hairy chest.
I love the contestant as here. And I approve of the contestant chair that rolls on and offstage on a track.

R18 he did about an hour or so act, where he did observational humor and used other props. The watermelon thing was basically his encore, it was a take on annoying & ridiculous infomercials which got big in the 80s. It was all much more relevant at the time. People were much more innocent then and not jaded & calloused like now, things are different in your head when you watch multiple bukkakes online by 9.

He always dressed and acted like pedophile clown after children. The striped shirts with kooky hats. And the stupid prop act with sudden bursts of violence that freaked me out. As if he were saying "Don't tell anyone or this will happen to you." He gave me nightmares as a kid. Good fucking riddance.
