Does Cassie seem more insecure than her character seemed to be in S1? Why is she so hung up on Nate.
| by Anonymous | reply 1 | January 25, 2022 12:21 AM |
Seems to be a trend for the female characters.
Whatever the issues the actress who plays Kat has with the development of her character, I would agree that Kat in this season is so far something of a disappointment. What made her so interesting before was her discovery of self-confidence, and a fuck y'all attitude and adventurous spirit. And it was cool that her mother was supportive. That all seems to have dissolved into the standard fat girl self-loathing trope. Sisters need to stand up for themselves!
| by Anonymous | reply 2 | January 25, 2022 7:34 AM |
Kat's always annoyed me. I love when these actors all think they’re Lea Michele. And we all know where being Lea Michele got her.
| by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 25, 2022 12:13 PM |
Any over-under on whether we'll see any cock tonight? Because if not, it'd be the first episode this season without any.

That Brokeback Bit!!! ROFL!
| by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 31, 2022 2:04 AM |
Minka Kelly is a surprisingly hot milf. And I also feel incredibly old bc she no longer plays the hot cheerleader in teen dramas, but is the middle aged mom now.
| by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 31, 2022 2:06 AM |
So... Jules has a dick, not a pussy, right?
... right?
| by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 31, 2022 2:09 AM |
I absolutely hate Maddie. As a character. I can't stand her.
| by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 31, 2022 2:13 AM |
I had that issue with an ex boyfriend... he was really nice. He really wanted to be with me. And I felt nothing. I was bored to tears. He was everything I SHOULD have wanted... but ... I didn't. I tried. I went through the motions for a while until I couldn't stand leading him on like that. I had to break up with him.

Worst stop-and-rob heist ever.

To today's teens know Sinead O'Conner songs? I mean, I get Cam going for it. It's of his time.

That was heart-breaking.
And he made it home alive I guess.

There are some very disturbing fans who want to have Ashtray’s baby.
If Nate isn’t going to be at least Bi I’m pissed off. It would be nice to see him in at least one major relationship with a guy
Is Cal gay, bi?
That wasn’t really Derek at the club, was it?
| by Anonymous | reply 14 | February 1, 2022 11:25 AM |
r7 I think Jules still has a dick. In season 1, ep 1 she's lying on the bed with Rue in her undies and she clearly has some kind of package.
| by Anonymous | reply 15 | February 1, 2022 12:39 PM |
Jules pissed standing up last week. She still has a dick.

No, of course it wasn't. Jesus.
| by Anonymous | reply 17 | February 1, 2022 2:55 PM |
The title of the show should be Ephebophilia, not Euphoria. You’re sick to watch this shit. The only reason it gets a pass from the liberal media, despite exploiting and over-sexualizing young actors, is because it normalizes trans identity.
| by Anonymous | reply 18 | February 1, 2022 3:12 PM |
So far, this season is good, not great. The biggest problem is none of the storylines feel substantial enough or like they're building toward anything.
The nonstop music is getting exhausting. Maddie and Nate's conversation about their relationship would have been more effective with just their dialog; having a "Summertime" cover blaring in the background was distracting.
Meanwhile, Rue's addiction is just not interesting anymore, and she's kind of a drag to watch.
But Sydney is putting in her best work.
| by Anonymous | reply 19 | February 1, 2022 3:34 PM |
Teens will not be influenced by this show. It is entertaining but a total complete joke how teens act. It is too sexual, no doubt. Teens seem far less sexual now than at any time I can remember.
| by Anonymous | reply 20 | February 2, 2022 5:12 AM |
I'm sure I must have missed something, but it's unclear to me why Jules would be surprised that Rue is using - aside from the fact that Elliot is involved - when the fact that she had relapsed was revealed in ep. 1.

Isn't that the point?

Rue will get someone killed. 100%.
| by Anonymous | reply 23 | February 2, 2022 11:31 AM |
Whoever manages the kid who plays Ashtray’s media accounts definitely tries to sexualize him posting shirtless pics of him boxing and pics of him sitting with this legs open at eye level.
Why isn’t Cassie getting pounded by her hot black ex?
| by Anonymous | reply 24 | February 2, 2022 11:48 AM |
I find myself looking away and playing on my phone when it’s Rue/drug scenes. Maybe it’s because I’ve known too many young people hooked on drugs these past few years. It’s too depressing/frustrating to watch.
| by Anonymous | reply 25 | February 3, 2022 2:34 AM |
The actress who plays Cassie is being exploited in my opinion. Really gratuitous stuff.
I think Eric Dane deserves an award for the latest episode. I really felt his loneliness and he was completely in the zone. Great acting.
Maddy frightens me. She’s smart and seems to be human, but would probably laugh if she accidentally ran over a dog.
The actor who plays Ethan is underrated. I’ve seen him in other things and he’s always good.
I’m also finding Rue to be a drag and Jules does have a dick and is built like a guy.
| by Anonymous | reply 26 | February 3, 2022 2:49 AM |
If Jules didn't have a dick, Cal wouldn't have been interested in fucking her.
| by Anonymous | reply 27 | February 3, 2022 7:04 AM |
Rue and Jules are the least interesting characters suddenly. Kat as well. They are all getting a little exhausting to watch.
| by Anonymous | reply 28 | February 3, 2022 12:05 PM |
I’d rather watch a Cal spinoff.

I'd like Cal & Derek: The College Years.

God that was hard to watch. SO tense.
Drugs makes you do the worst things. Zendya really knocked it out of the park I thought.
| by Anonymous | reply 31 | February 7, 2022 3:04 AM |
Rue is in such deep shit right now.
| by Anonymous | reply 32 | February 7, 2022 5:22 AM |
Zendaya’s acting was amazing. This episode was hard to watch. She was so cruel to everyone that she loved. I was happy that they didn’t show her getting raped. I thought that was where they were going with that storyline. The show is heavy enough.
| by Anonymous | reply 33 | February 7, 2022 5:30 AM |
Good episode. Hard to watch in the beginning. But the rest was kind of a rush.
Rue is totally screwed on her debt.
| by Anonymous | reply 34 | February 7, 2022 7:42 AM |
The writers are focusing on supporting characters, whose stories weren't highlighted in season 1. You have to do this when you have too many storylines.
We fleshed out Cat and Nate and Jules in season 1. Zendaya is the star of the show so they have to keep her storyline as number 1. But everyone else? We're going to see more in depth storylines with the supporting characters from this point forward.
| by Anonymous | reply 35 | February 7, 2022 7:56 AM |
I don't think this show gets enough credit for how funny it can be. When Rue breaks it into that upscale home, we hear the growling of what we think is a vicious dog, then it ends up being this lovable boxer who just wanted to be rubbed. It was hilarious. I went from being concerned for Rue's safety, to being concerned for the dog because she was so out of control.
And hiring Martha Kelly from Baskets to play the former schoolteacher/drug pusher was comic genius.
I really love this show!

Ashtray will be revealed to be a father. Watch. I’ve been right.

Kool that Zendaya lets her natural ugly face be shown.
| by Anonymous | reply 39 | February 9, 2022 6:48 AM |
Hot as fuck that mr Dane showed his cock alot, or the dildo thing in his pants. More full frontal on tv god damit.

| by Anonymous | reply 41 | February 9, 2022 3:52 PM |
R41, the lady that gave Rue the suitcase intended to sex traffic her. They were keeping her drugged in that back room. At some point (may have happened already) she was going to let men rape her.

All valid criticisms aside, I mean what is better than this? What?

Tonight’s episode was great. I wonder if they will elaborate on the possibility of Nate having been sexually abused? I was so afraid that he was going to shoot Fez…he is my favorite male character on this show.
| by Anonymous | reply 45 | February 14, 2022 5:27 AM |
I'll watch later this week.
I'll bet the ratings were WAY down for tonight's episode, at least "live" watchers.
| by Anonymous | reply 46 | February 14, 2022 6:12 AM |
Yeah R45, that inference by the mom was brutal. The episode was good, I agree. The sponsor pushing the sisters to start talking was nice, but sad. I thought he was creeping on the younger one at first. I also thought Maddy was going to have sex with the baby-voiced Titans actress.
| by Anonymous | reply 47 | February 14, 2022 6:36 AM |
OMG, yes. I thought that Maddy and the mom were going to have sex for sure. Maybe it will happen after the mom sees video of Maddy trying on her clothes. I have a feeling that the sponsor will end up with Rue’s mom at some point too, which would be a horrible mistake. No boundaries at all on this show.

Sick of looking at the blonde bimbo non actress who is alwys freaking the fuk out......next!

Zendaya is possibly the most fugly woman on television or film.
| by Anonymous | reply 50 | February 17, 2022 5:13 AM |
R50 I agree and disagree. Zendaya has this great talent, (and bravery), of being able to look really ugly. Yeah, Rue looks simply ghastly at times.
But Zendaya, when cleaned up, is gorgeous!

[quote] Zendaya is possibly the most fugly woman on television or film.
I looked up fugly on urban dictionary, because I felt unsure of my understanding. It defines fugly as a contraction of "fucking ugly", or extremely ugly. Which makes perfect sense.
But for some reason I've always seen it used to mean more like "funny looking in an attractive way". As in, the younger Baldwin brothers, or Lady GaGa. Used in a sentence, "Damn that Taylor Lautner is fugly."
Either way, I don't think Zendaya is funny looking or fugly.

My mom nor any moms I knew growing up acted like Nate and Cassie’s moms. Are they typical? If so, I dodged a bullet. No wonder their kids are fucked up.
| by Anonymous | reply 53 | February 18, 2022 10:02 AM |
The bug-eyed blond at Fezco’s is hilarious and does a really good job with her character.
| by Anonymous | reply 54 | February 18, 2022 10:03 AM |
R53, I have teenaged nieces and nephews and I don’t think the moms shown on the show are exaggerated at all. High school students drink with their parents. The parents allow drinking parties at the house while they’re home (not just at my brothers house, but other families allow this as well). The moms these days are a bunch of wino drunks with no boundaries. I have no idea why no one if afraid of getting sued. Some of these people are very wealthy, and could lose everything if an underaged kid got drunk and hurt.
| by Anonymous | reply 55 | February 18, 2022 3:29 PM |
[quote] Nate and Cassie’s moms. Are they typical?
It's Kalifornia baby. SoCal. Cali.
Although I'd peg those Moms as being more typical of Florida or Arizona.

Finally got around to watching last week's episode. When that blonde was taking out the trash in the rain, I thought it was Cassie. I literally cannot tell those two actresses apart. Only when she was standing there with her fish=lips agape did I realize it wasn't Cassie. I feel like I don't even understand who that character is because half the time I just assume it's Cassie.

R57 You again? Have you had your eyes examined yet?
Oh right, what worked last time. Yes they're almost like identical twins. It's remarkable. So confusing. Everyone agrees with you, but thank you for pointing that out again. Bye.

R41 The idea that the purported Creator of the Universe can be petitioned by prayer to rig the outcome of an episode of Family Feud? If you believe that, I guess you can be convinced of just about anything. God help us.

What did Mate’s mom infer?
| by Anonymous | reply 60 | February 20, 2022 8:12 AM |
Everyone who is trying to make more out of Nate's conversation with his mom doesn't remember Season 1, episode 2 - when Nate sneaks into his dad's office (Cal) and discovers the collection of discs. He was, like, 8 or 9. That's the experience that changed him. He was being very cagey about it with his mom, because he assumes she (still) doesn't know of their existence, or what her husband was really up to many of those nights. When he says (paraphrasing) "It's like there's something you're not saying", he's trying to determine what she might and might not know.
Yeah, it might also come out that he was also molested, but I don't think so.
| by Anonymous | reply 63 | February 20, 2022 8:45 AM |
Well…about that Cal/Nate scene from tonight’s theater episode. I’m not sure if it was meant to be taken literally, but it reminded me of an infamous scene from an infamous early 90s film about a Canadian soldier stationed in the Netherlands.

What High School would allow that play to be put on
| by Anonymous | reply 65 | February 21, 2022 12:42 PM |
There is no high school that would let such a play be put on. Never mind the production values and budget. Jesus. The whole thing is just beyond ridiculous. It's silly. Euphoria sure jumped the shark with this episode.
| by Anonymous | reply 66 | February 21, 2022 3:50 PM |
Don’t the teenagers get permission from their drunk parents to dress like Jersey Shore hookers, tho? Also, they all have access to guns and drugs and stuff pretty much whenever. Would a racy play be really be that unbelievable in this universe?
| by Anonymous | reply 67 | February 21, 2022 4:08 PM |
[quote] Euphoria sure jumped the shark with this episode.
I think that was the intention. But even over-the-top can be over-the-top. I found the locker room dance number to be that. Just got to be annoying - were they looping the same 2 lines from Bonnie Tyler. I probably disliked it more than Nate did.
Overall I was hoping Lexi's play would reveal a bit more previously unknown stuff, which it may still do if it's also to be continued. My favorite line was from Maddie who is not usually clueless, part way in, "Wait, is this about us?"
