He really doesn't do much anymore except Wes Anderson movies. Is he unemployable as an actor, or is this by choice?

Most of Hollywood won’t work with him. He’s too difficult.

But he’s also from a rich family. He’s a trust fund kid. He doesn’t have to work.

He is legendarily difficult

IIRC Nick Nolte accepted a role in a film he was directing and quit at the read thru when Norton told him SPECIFICALLY how he wanted him to act.

He wants to co-direct, rewrite and edit almost every movie he is in. I'm surprised he doesn't want to sing the theme song?

All of that meddling with directors, writers, and producers must have been a mad rush of compensation for his negligible status among the more artistic and intelligent classes in Hollywood. Has he ever become more than a pretentious actor whose demands exceeded what he brought to a production? This, as well as distracting from his bizarre utter lack of lips for a big screen actor. Eew.

I thought he was going to have a great career, but after a few interesting years it just petered out. I still think he's cute, but his thin lips have now totally disappeared.
