I am sure I bought them for $25 at Goodys in the 90s. I’m also sure that this a reboot of the brand.

But I got a pair for Christmas and they are great. So I bought 2 more pair.

Yes it is a reboot of a reboot of a reboot. The brand goes back to Nashville in 1865. It was relaunched as a "fashion" brand in 1978 and sold at stores throughout the South. In 2003, Goodys bought it and made it a store brand. When Goodys went bankrupt, in 2006, Duck Head was sold off as a separate company. It was then bought by another company in 2016.

Goodys also got rebooted but has now gone bankrupt again and closed.

Where I lived we had a Duckhead Outlet Store for awhile, it was heaven. It was a real outlet, too. Not one of those overpriced "outlets" like today.

I lived in Duck Heads in college in the ‘80s, they were always cheaply made, but they’d fade nicely and get really soft, and you could chop the legs off and make shorts out of them when the knees wore out. I think they’ve been relaunched a bunch of times, may have to look them up.
