I know Ru adores Jorgeous and wants to take over her body so she can extend her own life, but it was getting increasingly difficult to watch her struggle through every single challenge. She could only rest on pretty for so long.
Thread Two became subscriber-only (which seems to happen when there are not enough people commenting on a thread that's getting longer and longer) at around reply 500. I've been coming to DL since Season 8 and I can't think of any other year where that's happened to one of the running RPDR threads. Not a great indication on DL's interest level for this season.

I laughed at how happy Jorgeous was to be eliminated, she was so ready for this to be over. She knows she doesn't have the talents you need to do these challenges.

Ru really doesn't want to eliminate anyone this season. Fourteen episodes, and only 7 had real eliminations.
Now we are bringing freakin 5 contestants into the finale. Though the silver lining is that means an update to the current lip sync for the crown tournament.

Producers probably lost their shit at the prospect of an all-white final four and had to improvise.
Lady Camden is the clear winner of the season.
Daya gave the season some spice and gives great face in her performances. Was fun to watch here and in Moulin Rouge.
Willow is one-of-kind and really enjoyed her. Really liked her lipsync tonight.
Angie is meh but her runway outfit tonight was fab. The music video one was horrid.
Boo to Bosco. That was the outfit she designed? She never changed her eyebrows zzzzzzzz

Daya and Lady Camden were the only 2 who earned their spots in the finale tonight.
That lipsync fiasco in the bunny godmother get up and the black tulle concoction was a double sashay if ever there was one.
Luckily, there is Drag Race España airing arm because these US queens are not bringing it except for Daya and Camden.

There is absolutely no reason Bosco should be in the final five. Of all the seasons where we could have stuck around for hour long episodes and no one going home, it’s not 3-6 with the talented casts, just these entitled crybaby Gen Zers.
I think Angeria is underrated and Daya is fine because she’s a thorn in the side. So sick of the Willow overhype and I found it really rich when Ru said she hasn’t used her illness as a crutch when we’re always hearing how feeble she is and how close to death. Camden has been on every single since season. There is absolutely no originality there.
I vote Angeria for the win but we all know Ru crowned Willow by the end of the first episode. She’s pushing her so hard that I’m starting to get resentful.

Willow very obviously won the lipsync. But they had to keep Angeria in the game to have one POC in the finale. They could have easily avoided this situation by putting Bosco and Angeria in the bottom and sending Bosco home (we know lipsyncs are not Bosco's strong point). So this all smells like "keeping as many contestants around for as long as possible" - whatever purpose that serves. At this point, I wouldn't mind if Daya Betty takes the whole thing and gloats over everyone after being crowned.

According to a post I saw on some Facebook page, this is Ru’s favorite season since season six. She liked all the queens a lot and was having trouble eliminating them so that’s why we have a top five. The post went on to say they think it’s Willow’s to lose because Ru likes her so much. It was a post in rupaul’s drag race family on April 9.

I think Willow has been consistent, but consistently about 80%. She’s good, but you never really see her break away from her control. Everything is calculated, and as Ru pointed out with her dance steps last night, counted. I love Willow, but she needs a bit of Daya's personality. Last night, Angeria and Willow were definitely at the bottom, but they were still good. When Ru asks they had fun, I think that’s the key - you have fun when you lose your self control, which is what someone like Daya can do. I think Camden is a good balance between being technical and free-spirited. I’d still love to see Willow win, though.

I’m Black, and I’m over Angeria. I know she was kept around so the final four wouldn’t be all white. Would anyone have cared? The last two winners have been black! It’s affirmative action and I don’t like it one bit.
Angeria is stunning, but we’ve seen this black pageant girl thing SOOOOOO many times. I’m over it. And she’s also a surprisingly bad performer. That lip synch was a double sashay. They both sucked. But I guess we’re not allowed to say that.
Willow is fresh and interesting but cannot perform at all. That’s not winner material. Angeria can’t dance. That’s not winner material. Daya’s look is too extreme and she has no versatility. That leaves Bosco, who isn’t as polished as Camden.
Camden can do it all and look incredible doing it. Camden for the win.

I don’t believe for one second that this is Ru’s favorite cast since season six. The added episode counts started last year. They’re doing what they did with The Biggest Loser and stretching out the patience of an audience to nurse a cheap reality hit.
I’ll agree that she’s weirdly fixated on Willow and there’s no way any one else is getting the crown. But Ru loves comedy and irony to love a cast who all fucked up Snatch Game.

I think the queens were set up to fail in the Snatch Game. Yes, their performances were generally fairly poor but aren't they always? The judges stony silences and the brutal editing were deliberately exaggerated to make this Snatch Game fall flatter than usual. If you took away RuPaul's forced laughter and the sound effects a lot of the previous ones would have been just as woeful.
It was suspicious how in the workroom interviews beforehand RuPaul never suggested anyone try an alternative character choice. When was the last time [italic]that[/italic] happened? I think that was so RuPaul wouldn't have to share any of the blame for the coming (pre-planned) disaster.

R53 Good call. I'm surprised that there hasn't been a solid documentary done about Ru at this time of success in his life. I would of course want a warts and all (fracking, anyone?), but it's likely he would decline to participate if anything like that was going to be addressed. Likely, he would not let Michelle participate, and any other people in his inner circle.
That said, I'd rather watch historical/lost footage starting from WAY back in the day (I'm a footage hound), and current interviews with people who don't suck at Ru's teat. Bianca, anyone? Or those who have/had...difficult... friendships with Ru. Lady Bunny, anyone? As well as past participants who had the money to buy out of those ridiculous contracts. Fun fact: Trixie bought out ASAP, and only participates in Ru-connected projects when she gets paid instead of being "forced to" do it for free. Sweet fact, she paid to buy out Katya's contract too. Even when they were going through that shitty time.
Raven/David, who has been doing Ru's makeup for a while now, admittedly laughed at any contractual bullshit. I am guessing Ru didn't try to sue because Raven has a: talent; b: balls, c: knows all of the skinny and would spill it all at a single piss drop, and d: one of the few that can make Ru look good. That said, doubtful Raven would say fuck all, because it isn't worth it.

Please don't let it be Daya. She tried to save herself in the reunion. Still don't like her. It's one thing to be competitive and want to win. What Daya doesn't understand it's really a personal best situation. She's a bad sportsman and came off badly the whole season. She was constantly harping on what other people are doing. Worry about yourself. All the while in that Crystal Method knock off make up. Make it stop!
I figured out what I really don't like about Daya though. She's pretty queeny as a boy right? But in drag she has no grace, no femininity. Does she even know how to move her hips? She clomps out there and does dumb poses. It's clowny. Meanwhile Angeria is like a pageant goddess giving us some illusion. I laughed out loud when Ru, at the beginning of yesterday's episode, called Season 14 "the most talked about season in Drag Race herstory".
Maddy showed more personality last night than at any point in the actual competition. Some funny reads and comments, especially when she called Ru 'heterophobic' by having her go through two design challenges so early in the season and eliminating her right before a Southern-themed challenge filled with fart jokes.

That was by far the best finale of a Drag Race season. I was cheering out loud when Camden and Willow made it to the top two. And as much as I love Lady Camden, I’m so happy for Willow Pill. I’m a Denverite so now we have two winners! Jumping up and down with joy for Willow and I can’t wait for a big homecoming celebration!
And kudos to Daya Betty! I’m glad she didn’t make the top 2, but the movement on that outfit, with the tentacles? That looked like some Avatar-level special effects. All the entrance costumes blew me away. God this must have cost a fortune for these queens.
And my response to “how are you doing?” will from now on be “I don’t see how that’s any of your business!”

I think Willow was one of the most unique queens in Drag Race history. The spaghetti toaster bathtub performance? The latex lips and cheeks look? Her performance of “I Hate People”?!
She posted a very sad Instagram about how one of her sisters (obviously not the one in the audience) died shortly after filming of cystinosis and kidney failure, the same genetic disorder Willow has. Willow may not be around much longer (so don’t hesitate to see her if she comes to your town and you’re so inclined-you may not have another chance). She’s probably going to be the epitome of “shined bright, lost too soon”.

Willow is not worthy. She was barely good. Ironic and sly and calculating, yes. How does she burn brightly? She can barely move on stage. He kind of creeps me out to be honest. Make a Wish!
It was a nice glitzy finale, but a very boring bunch of contestants. What in the hell happened to Angeria along the way? She had so much to offer - but could barely lip synch in the finale!
Daya is really the only one who stands out, for some right and wrong reasons. But there's life in that one. Her performance energy and eat em up facial expressions are enjoyable. I guess a bitch can never win the crown again - unless Raja wins the All Winners Season...
Those individual songs were atrocious. The ones given Ginger, Violet and Pearl in season 7 were much better written and customized to the performer. That's a large reason why Violet won. That season WAS undecided until the last minute. Well, it was Gingers all the way - until the shows aired.....
Season 14 was totally forgettable. The Mighty Wind and MoulinRu were OK. Not one great runway. Angeria is the only one who had ALL the qualities to win - but she lost herself somewhere being everybody's friend.
I'm glad Cornbread won. Tells you how much the other queens love her. They stopped letting the at home audience vote for Miss Congeniality after the Loathed By The Cast Valentina won it! Now that season had a hell of a cast and a fucking REUNION to remember.
P.S. Aquaria is not a failure of a winner? Hell no. Don't tell lies.
Bob did clearly state this week that he was NOT invited to be part of the All Star Winners Season. Ha. Good.
Neither were Bianca, Aquaria and Alaska. Not because they aren't popular or very successful. Because RuPaul is petty.

Does anyone else the audience reactions shots? A queen says something only slightly funny or snappy and you see gays in the audience waving their hands in the air, doing snaps, woo-ing and practically jumping out of their seats. As for the finale itself, what are the thoughts of Willow's outfit at the start of the lip sync. I thought it was derivative of one of her earlier looks where she used the giant elongated hands. Even the reveal was okay, nothing great. And she seemed to spend the first few minutes of the lip sync just standing in place while Lady Camden was using the stage.. But as others have noted, the winner was clearly announced at the start of the season.

Even on the Werk the World Tour mini documentary they did - Kameron was without personality, humor or interest. He tries to avoid camera time or saying anything - because he is monumentally dumb.
Vanjie, Yvie, Kennedy and Aquaria are all a lot of fun it seems. Even Violet was fun when she's in the mood. Kim Chi does not want to be seen out of drag. He's bald and HUGE. Of course Asia is mother to them all and is the serious and bossy one. Professional. And they ALL love and revere Kennedy as a person and a performer.

I’m growing very tired of the same challenges (a roast, snatch game, a rusical, a tv show, a make shit out of garbage sewing challenge) every year and wish they could come up with new ones. That said, the Daytona Wind, and Moulin Ru were probably the best examples in the series so far.
I love Willow “Widdle” Pill. I keep rewatching “I hate People” and the final lip sync. There’s something about her performance in the final lip sync, the purple sleeves and swimsuit, the way she moves her shoulders that very much reminded me of Prince’s protégée Vanity. The original concept for Drag Race was more like Project Runway. Ru pitched the idea after being a judge on it. Each drag queen would be paired up with a designer and they would work to construct a new look each week. He literally pitched a copy of Project Runway after being on Project Runway. Then they decided to rip off America's next top model instead.

No, Cornbread said at Roscoes' that she would be stepping away from doing drag because she wants to focus on her transition and hormones and some surgeries. She said she would be present at some events. I think this is why she wasn't automatically brought back for another season. She declined.
As someone noted upthread, Drag Race has always been a haven and chance for success for failed actors, comics and theatre kids. More recently it has become trans central station. Where Drag Race fans learn to halfway perform because they want money and sponsors and private donors to make their dreams of becoming a woman come true. And the worldwide online support that dainty, perverse and virtually talentless Willow Pill received.
The only accomplished Drag Queen on Season 14 was Lady Camden. And she should have won.

Kelly Clarkson gets some negative shit posted about her on Datalounge, but she treated these queens as individuals and kept the ball rolling. She does her homework. They all had moments to shine and unlike Andy Cohen or Colbert - Kelly doesn't use Drag Race queens as props. They are her guests. She knows their names and riffs off the responses. Alaska, BoB, Trixie, Jinkx or Willow Pill would never succeed as their male selves with existing talents. Bob tried HARD. He don't like being a drag queen. But it was his ticket to attention and eventual fame. Drag Race alumni make money, honey. Even the non superstars like Pandora Box or Trinity K Bonet. There have been a number of workroom and interview discussion about how being in DRAG makes many of them feel more powerful and confident. Stands to reason. Not too many rent boys go into Drag, but a hell of a lot of streetwalker trannies did.
Bianca, Violet, Miss Fame and Raja and especially Shangela would have been successful as males in their chosen careers. Comedy, fashion, acting. But nowhere near as famous or powerful or RICH as they are as Drag Queens.
Jinkx and Jan and Alexis Michelle are only "Broadway" queens because they dress us as them.
