Does Dr. Now secretly hate fat people?
William Jenkins
The doctor at the center of My 600 pound life is Dr. Nowzaradan and he sounds like a comic specializing in fat jokes. Here a fatty who isn't following the program says he doesn't want to be malnourished and Dr. Now simply says "do you look malnourished?" He told Steven that he's sick of the taxpayers paying for him and if he doesn't get out of the hospital, he's going to have him put into a truck and dumped at a homeless shelter. When another was not following his program, he said "that list is for food to avoid, it's not your shopping list." And an all time fave, "you've got 800 pounds of food in you."
These smackdowns are as satisfying as Judge Judy's.

These fat lazy tubs of lard need a swift kick in the ass. No sugar coating the severity of their condition. He’s doing them a huge favor. And yes, I laughed like hell at the malnourished comment.

His patients are morbidly obese and almost dead. They’re literally killing themselves with food. I don’t think Dr. Now’s comments are the issue here.

The 5'3" 600# woman on last week's episode claimed she was bulimic. Dr. Now then when all ballistic on her ass.

Once when a patient complained of hunger after surgery and said she was going to starve, Dr. Now said you're 500 pounds, you're not going to starve.
After that bitch said she was bulimic, Dr. Now said to the camera that she was delusional.

Betcha the show's producers are begging him to make the nasty comments and can he please find something meaner and more judgmental to say to his patients? Please? It'll be great for ratings! And if you can't say it to their faces, say it off camera and we'll edit together like it's a real conversation!
Because yeah, I'm sure that a good proportion of the viewers despise fat people and would love to say mean things to their faces, but they don't have the nerve. A lot of reality TV is like that, all those phoney "Judge ____" shows are designed to appeal to people who can't get away with being as judgmental in real like as they'd like to be.

Food is a drug and many morbidly obese people sound like drug addicts when you listen to their arguments. It’s really sad to see a 600 pound person who’s afraid of starving to death.
He’s not making nasty or mean comments, his patients are the ones with the twisted reality.
