Do you refrigerate your oranges
John Thompson
Look at the produce section at your grocery store. They need to preserve food for the sake of profits. Citrus, tomatoes and avocados are not refrigerated.

While I agree, this is a good "rule" to follow, keep in mind grocery stores are AC'd 24/7. Most homes are not kept at 72 degrees or less all the time. Grocery stores also no not have a lot of direct sunlight in their produce sections.

I love a good chilled kumquat.

Refrigerate a large bag, putting a few out to peel and eat at room temperature. They dry out much faster at room temperature.

Oranges that you bring home and do not refrigerate will go bad if you do not eat them after several days.

I do but take them out for awhile before eating, I don't like them cold.

I do because oranges are so amazingly delicious and refreshing when cold. They are not nearly as tasty to me at room temp.

Recently, my local Sam's Club moved their skid of oranges into the cold room, rather than keeping them out on the floor as they've always done. No idea why. Perhaps they were molding too quickly.
When I get a bag of oranges, I don't keep them in the fridge. I might move one or two oranges into the fridge for a few hours if I'm in the mood for a cold one.

Yes. I like oranges cold.

Heavens no! Oh my word, what filth would refrigerate them? I can only imagine someone who must bite their toenails as well. I'm horrified to even consider refrigerating them.

PETER MARSHALL: "Paul, should you freeze your persimmons?"
PAUL LYNDE: (pauses) "No, you should always dress warmly for the winter!"

Well, that was a big help.

Oranges, limes, and lemons should be refrigerated. Grapefruits should be left out.

R1–Supermarkets don’t refrigerate sodas and juices, but that doesn’t mean they don’t taste better cold.
