Do you like drag shows?
Daniel Martin
Lots of gays seem to be tired of them, they seem played out.

They’re like bellhops without any skills. Unnecessary but they’re always there and we have to tip them.

I always have a great time. I live in Atlanta so the queens are pretty great

I’ve never understood the appeal of drag at all, and though it doesn’t really bother me personally, I do get the womanface objections.
I don’t understand the appeal of American football (except for the bulges and asses), card games, or olives, either, but to each his own.
I really don’t get the push to involve children in drag shows, however. A strange hill to die on for me.

R3 exactly, the amount of resources going into DQST is ridiculous and for what?

I wouldn't say "if you've seen one drag queen, you've seen them all", but if you've seen a handful, you've pretty much seen them all.

The splits! Groundbreaking.
Cum & Anal Sex jokes! Groundbreaking.
Licking your fingertips and rubbing your imaginary tits! Groundbreaking.
Lipsyncing! Groundbreaking.

I've seen some and enjoyed them. I don't seek them out now but the local queen's do host Bingo games and raise money for groups who care for gays in need. I have friends that go but I'm not that into Bingo.
When I was young in SF there was Finocchio's and the big Halloween drag queen bash that made the papers even in the 1950s, early 60s. They were an entertaining part of life. Kids lived for the day when they were old enough to go to Finocchio's. I enjoyed the lone drag queens who put on solo comedy/music shows and of course saw Dame Edna.

I like female impersonators who sing or do comedy, song and dance. Those guys are super talented. I remember seeing several a few years ago in Puerto Vallarta. Miss Conception was great. The ones who just sashay and lip sync do nothing for me. Mostly I'm embarrassed for them.

Keep spreading that phony right wing talking point, r3.

No, I do not. I have seen several and to be completely honest, I only enjoyed one because the bitch was an inexperienced, amateur who nearly fell down on stage, and couldn’t lip synch to save her ass.

I don't go to as many as possible but yes, they're funny, because the queen is either really good or really bad. It's entertaining.

R12, I no longer give a fuck about this accusation. Keep hurling it.
| by Anonymous | reply 16 | July 30, 2023 11:23 PM |
Well, r16, let's set the record straight. There has NEVER been a *push* to get "children involved in drag shows". Also, it's not a hill anyone is dying on.

What exactly is "womanface"? Is that make-up? Do women who don't wear make-up not have a woman's face?
