Anson William Heimlich is the nephew of Dr. Heimlich, famous for "The Heimlich Maneuver."

by Anonymousreply 3September 10, 2019 2:26 PM

He's an All American boy.

by Anonymousreply 7September 14, 2019 8:22 AM

I heard that he was bi. He was in a band and was fucking groupies one day but also having sex with some guy in his band. Old, old rumor.

by Anonymousreply 8September 14, 2019 8:38 AM

Wha'cha Talkin' About Potsie?

by Anonymousreply 10September 15, 2019 9:07 AM

His name was originally Twatsy but they decided to change it right before they started filming.

by Anonymousreply 11September 15, 2019 9:45 AM

Lucy was going to play Twatsy, but Gary Morton talked her out of it.

It was too bad because the Twatsy character was going to start a band and she had such a lovely singing voice.

Cousin of the guy who invented the heimlich maneuver.

by Anonymousreply 13September 16, 2019 3:26 AM

Yes, and when his family caught us, they blamed me and told the Cunninghams who threw me out of the house and struck my name from existence forever!

by Anonymousreply 15December 29, 2019 6:27 PM

I thought he was extremely cute on HD. Everything I’ve read about him suggests he’s a major entitled asshole.

by Anonymousreply 16December 29, 2019 6:35 PM

He can't be worse than Scott the rapey homophobe Baio.

by Anonymousreply 17December 29, 2019 7:06 PM

The Fonz fucked the hell out of him because The Potz was A Putz. Common knowledge.

by Anonymousreply 18December 29, 2019 7:15 PM

Did anyone ever confirm what the "it" was one was supposed to sit upon as demanded on the show? I know it was a national catchphrase in the 70's but was the beginning of vulgarity on tv or...?

by Anonymousreply 19December 29, 2019 7:22 PM

Interesting Anson and Donny weren’t in the last episode of Happy Days.

by Anonymousreply 20December 29, 2019 7:29 PM

R19 I always assumed “sit on it” was akin to telling someone to shut up.

by Anonymousreply 21December 29, 2019 7:32 PM

I think it was a TV-friendly way of saying shove it up your ass.

by Anonymousreply 22December 29, 2019 7:36 PM

I always assumed "sit on it" meant you were essentially telling someone to sit on your middle finger. Maybe that's because the kids on the playground used to give the middle finger and say "sit on it." So to me, it always meant you were telling someone to shove something up their ass. Shut up makes far more sense in retrospect.

by Anonymousreply 23December 29, 2019 7:41 PM

[quote]Anson William Heimlich is the nephew of Dr. Heimlich, famous for "The Heimlich Maneuver."

So maybe his catchphrase should've been "choke on it!"

by Anonymousreply 24December 29, 2019 7:43 PM

Fingering is a prelude to ass-fucking. Every gay man knows that.

by Anonymousreply 25December 29, 2019 7:44 PM

Hadn't Donny Most left long before the ending?

by Anonymousreply 26December 29, 2019 7:45 PM

R25, that's probably why I thought that.

by Anonymousreply 27December 29, 2019 7:45 PM

[quote]Shut up makes far more sense in retrospect.

That's too generic, unless followed by "honky."

by Anonymousreply 28December 29, 2019 7:51 PM

He had a nice singing voice, I recall. I'm surprised he didn't do some musicals in summer stock or on the Kenley circuit during summer breaks from the show and after HD's run. I met someone who told me that Marion Ross was something of a diva, though.

by Anonymousreply 29December 29, 2019 7:55 PM

So wait, did Anson Williams die and I’m just missing it?

by Anonymousreply 30December 29, 2019 8:12 PM

Marion Ross a diva? Do tell more r29

by Anonymousreply 31December 29, 2019 10:38 PM

Someone I met years ago told me that his father had been appearing Ms. Ross in summer stock and that she wasn't easy to get along with. I mean, it's also possible that it was the guy's father who was the diva, but I remembered the story anyway.

by Anonymousreply 32December 29, 2019 10:57 PM

I think he does pretty well directing on TV (for decades).

by Anonymousreply 34December 29, 2019 11:35 PM

If you're still alive, then you're in better shape than Erin Moran, so I'll concede him that.

Well did he or didn’t he?

by Anonymousreply 38April 9, 2020 2:19 AM

Wow...70 years old and he doesn't have a grey hair.

by Anonymousreply 40April 9, 2020 2:27 AM

Afterr Happy Days he became a singer. There was gossip that he was bi nad fucking both groopies and his drummer.

by Anonymousreply 41April 9, 2020 2:32 AM

I was an actor on a cable show. He directed a few episodes. He was a nice guy. Passionate about his work. Good with the crew. No complaints.

by Anonymousreply 42April 9, 2020 2:37 AM

Was he considered for Danny Zuko?

by Anonymousreply 43April 9, 2020 2:39 AM

Mack the Knife, performed by Anson Williams and Dolly Parton:

I was young in the 1970s and I thought Anson Williams was the cutest boy on the show, and I loved his singing voice. I had a crush on him. Then they did an episode where they all went to California so the Fonz could jump the shark, and all the boys were all wearing bathing suits on the beach. When I saw Potsie's sad chest, my fantasies wilted. He has a cute face, but no muscle tone, and his nipples were cross eyed. And I am a shallow and superficial homo who puts too much interest in physical appearance.

by Anonymousreply 46April 9, 2020 3:02 AM

He was a favorite of Merv Griffin, often guesting on Griffin's talk show.

by Anonymousreply 47April 9, 2020 3:31 AM

He was often a guest on The Gong Show. Once, a drag queen came on doing Lily Tomlin's Ernestine. Anson gonged him and when asked why he said "I love Anita Bryant".

by Anonymousreply 48April 9, 2020 3:42 AM

Anson Williams made white bread seem exciting.
