Why does it matter that it happened 20 plus years ago?

BTK, who was a serial killer, as well as the Golden State serial rapist/serial killer, were both apprehended YEARS after they committed their crimes.

Should they too, get a more lenient sentence because time has passed since their last offense?

Have you ever been bamboozled by a horrible human being, who happens to be absolutely wonderful to you or others, yet behind closed doors, is someone and something that is absolutely in unbelievable and incomprehensible to you or others, R293?

Sadly, I have, and it pretty much broke me.

I couldn’t believe someone I absolutely loved, respected & genuinely trusted as if though he were my very own father, was REPEATEDLY physically/mentally/emotionally abusing my mother for YEARS, behind closed doors.

Guess what? He was. And not only did he harm her, as he also harmed every single woman he had been married to, before my own mom, which by the way, hid his past and multiple marriages from me and our family, other than the one to his first wife, whom we all thought had been his only previous marriage.

I can spend days telling you or anyone, really, how screwed up this man was/is, & I can honestly tell you that I or any of us in my family had a single clue what kind of man my mother brought into our family.

Let’s hypothetically propose that my mother’s current husband hasn’t beaten her in 20 years… what exactly does that do?

My mom is a complete shell of a human being now. Every time she ended up or ends up hospitalized, I wonder if the reason given for the hospitalization is/was truthful.

This man runs around acting like the most WONDERFUL person, and guess what? He IS WONDERFUL to MANY people, as long as they don’t live with him, and oppose him regarding anything, whatsoever, behind closed doors.

Masterson profoundly hurt others, R293. I am able to objectively understand your POV, however, he absolutely, truly hurt these women & possibly more, & he deserves his sentence, even if indicted/charged/sentenced 20 plus years later.

He treated these women like garbage, R293. He had ZERO regard for their comfort, health, safety, mental health, physical well being, their personhood, or even their lives and the PTSD one grapples with when victimized by someone like himself.

He didn’t give one flying fuck about his victims, R293. He really, really didn’t, which is why I find his sentence fair, as I have no doubt that at one time, he actually believed he’d gotten away with his crimes.

He’s a REALLY bad man, R293. He really, TRULY is, and I hope that someday, on some level, you can view this in its entirety and reality, and eventually understand that bad people like this are sociopaths who fool MANY, and that his lengthy incarceration is just, because I can promise you that speaking from personal experience?

Men like DM do NOT become better people. They harm others all the way, until the day they drop dead.
