As near as I can figure out, Singal is being accused of transphobia because he thinks children who decide they are trans should not begin to transition without first seeing a psychotherapist who can discuss it with them. This is, in their eyes, coming out in favor of "conversion therapy".

I really don't care if they "cancel" him or not to be honest. He's been saying homophobic crap for years about gay men in his "love advice" column. R20, The one on what he thinks of platinum gay men pretty much says it all. I don't recall the title since I read most of these ages ago but certain specific stories I remember are the one about an FTM imposing herself on gay men and gay male spaces, Dan basically encourages this FTM and calls gay men assholes for not accepting her in their space. And there was one on a confused lesbian who felt bad because she wasn't sure if she could date a MTF, Dan basically tells her to suck it up.
