Cunk on Earth on Netflix
Robert Guerrero
Best laughs I've had in a long time. On my way to find the rest of Diane Morgan's work. The scholars who didn't seem to be in on the parody were priceless.

Meh. I gave it a go, and I love dry British humor. But this was too silly.

Just posted my impressions in the existing thread minutes ago, it's very funny.

Weird, R2, I looked at that thread first and it said it was closed after just a few replies. I was confused.

Here's a good overview of the shows. Sounds hysterically funny.

She plays the best friend in the sitcom "Motherhood" which is a Sharon Horgan produced show, although SH only has input and doesn't act in it. In Motherhood, I had trouble understanding what Diane Morgan was saying. I don't know if it was her accent or that she just mumbles.

I wanted it to be funnier. Super low hanging fruit more often than not. It had moments and I think it's worth a watch.
But it's not peak Christopher Guest or even Key & Peele in terms of social satire.

R6 But the review at R4, I think, pinpoints what's funny about the show, which is her ineptitude, which sometimes actually brings out some pretty pointed insights.
I like that she herself seems to be only mildly interested in the subjects she's covering.

Tried watching it but something kept happening to the feed.

R7 oh I liked it. I did. The premise was so good. I just felt it could have been better - possibly because I so liked the premise. It seemed to be set up to blow my mind and for whatever reason it didn't. It was very amusing and I watched the entire season. So I will recommend it for sure.
But I might be judging it too harshly.

Nope. That mole is a deal breaker.

Watch “Mandy” - Diane Morgan is hilarious in it. All episodes are on You Tube.

The scholars were definitely in on it. I've watched a couple of episodes. It is funny, but could be funnier. I'll return one day.

I agree that the academics were in on it. My partner knows some people at universities in London and Surrey who pretty much confirmed it. Diane Morgan is pretty well known in the UK.

OP - look for the Australian comedy “Frayed” on HBO Max. Diane has a fun supporting role and it’s a great series.

I assume these are parodies of a series of commercials I never saw, but I think you can enjoy them without having seen the originals:

R13 Yes, the academics are in on it. The article in R4 explains how they know it's all for laughs, but that they're encouraged to answer as seriously as they can.

After seeing clips on TikTok for months and thinking it extremely stupid, I watch the show on Netflix and had to turn it off after ten minutes, it was more horrendous then imaginable and that disturbing growth on her neck was too distracting, she should think of wearing a Hermes scarf or something.

Cunk is fine in 10 minute doses but it gets tiring after a while.
I did appreciate that in the episode where they mocked Christianity they also took on Islam and made it clear it was heavily edited because of fear of reprisals.

It would be good to take clips of this show and air them in between shows on PBS, which always has some dead space because it airs Uk shows that might be only 45 minutes long. Like they used to do with Posh Nosh with Richard E Grant. Or any Rick Steves interlude.
And who isn’t sick of seeing that fucking Sanditon time filler they drag out every 2 days? Please get rid of that. Put some of the sillier clips of this show in those slots.

Diane Morgan was on Seth Meyers' show last night. She was adorable.
