Do these actually work I’m a very hot sleeper. What are the best ones?

Pillows don't really cut it for me.
The Chilipad, however, is awesome and changed my life.

After waking up night after night with a hot head this summer, I tried a cooling pillowcase I found on Amazon, that had favorable reviews. The selling point is It's made with bamboo fibers. It doesn't feel cool to the touch but is supposed to dissipate body heat. Nope... total fail. I still had to turn the pillow to the cool side. Maybe it'll be more comfortable during the winter months.
Years ago I tried those gel pads you put inside your pillowcase on top of your pillow and the gel is "supposed" to stay cool. Another ripoff - I would wake up drenched in sweat from the vinyl on that pad, which seemed to absorb your body heat after about an hour, then have your head laying on hot clammy plastic.

Are you hotheaded by nature, OP?

Please take advice from a perimenopausal woman whose entire lif3 is a hot flash. Get an 8 hour cold pack, put it in your pillow case.

Just remembered the name of that vinyl/gel pad piece of crap... The Chillow. I got mine in the mid-90's so maybe they upgraded it and it does a better job now.

I have a Purple Harmony. Latex is already very breathable, but the grid in the cover really lets the air move around, and it stays nice and cool.

R4 Chilipad is amazing and worth outrageous price.
Don't bother with pillows and cooling sheets. Shit doesn't work.

No they don’t work, I have purchased several brands with no luck. As someone already posted your best bet is to put a cold pack in your pillow case. Just an fyi this will make your pillows stink so be prepared to throw the pillows out frequently.

Fans. Point them so they blow across the bed and you’ll sleep like a baby.

I just keep my bedroom at 60° and that works just fine

I have several of the Target house brand pillows that have a fabric on the outside that is cool to the touch. They really do feel good when your face is directly on them. The problem is, you really have to use them without a pillowcase which is kinda gross. A pillowcase over the pillow cancels out the direct cooling effect. However they're cheap enough where you could regularly replace them.
