Kit Kat. The red package ones, not the waxy orange package ones.

Twix was always my favorite as a kid, I still like them today, I guess, but I wish the dark chocolate variety weren’t so hard to come by.

These. I've tasted all the best Belgian and French brands, but weirdly, this Australian brand is the only one where the different notes of the different cocoas really pop from the chocolate. When there's fruit notes, they really sing.
Worst chocolate ever tasted is a toss up between mainstream Swedish (brown fat) and Herscheys (brown oily salt) -- so shockingly awful I had to spit it out.

…and now I see they’re discontinued. But for some reason white chocolate Twix bars are here to stay? (White chocolate is fucking foul and is not chocolate.)

Not a chocolate bar but I LOVE these. Unfortunately they are hard to find in western Canada. I lived in Quebec as a child and still remember how delicious Laura Secord is.

Trader Joe's 100 calorie dark chocolate bars. It's good Belgium chocolate and the small bar is just big enough to satisfy and 100 calories isn't enough to feel guilty about.
| by Anonymous | reply 16 | October 3, 2021 6:52 AM |
Skor. People will say it's just like a Heath bar. People are wrong. The thinner bar of toffee breaks just right when you bite into it. Perfect toffee to chocolate ratio. Thin enough to place on the roof of your mouth, take a nap, then wake up to a delicious snack.

I discovered Cote D'or dark chocolate bars with hazelnuts on a trip to France and have craved them ever since. They were fairly cheap in Europe, but cost way more if ordered on Amazon. A friend with a house in France sends them to me occasionally. They have ruined domestic chocolate bars for me.

Bars? That's too much work. I just like to squeeze bottles of Hershey's Chocolate Syrup right down my throat--it saves time.

I used to love Mars bars and Caramilk. But both formulas were changed and they’re now garbage.

Cadbury with caramel center.
| by Anonymous | reply 33 | October 4, 2021 9:02 AM |
R27, Snickers was the name of the Mars family's favorite horse.
My favorite chocolate bars are Trader Joe's Belgian milk chocolate with hazelnuts and Lindt's milk chocolate with toffee bits. I also like the British Yorkie Bar, which used to advertise "It's not for girls."

Mmmm, the Marathon Bar, woven caramel covered in milk chocolate in the perfect blend that the caramel remains pliant and didn’t gum up your teeth like a box chocolate. No longer with us unfortunately.

R35, British Cadbury makes a very similar item called the Curly Wurly Bar. You can buy them in British import shops or on Amazon.

Cadbury Dairy Milk, but only when I'm outside the US---Hershey does a terrible job.
If I need a jolt of nostalgia Bun bars or Mallo Cups.
The one bar that's generally available: Trader Joes chocolate with speculoos.
| by Anonymous | reply 38 | October 4, 2021 12:21 PM |
R38 Hershey's is delightful and a couple kisses is all you need. Mallo Cups are gross! And who needs to choke all that Cadbury not to mention the cellulite it will add to your ass! lol
| by Anonymous | reply 39 | October 4, 2021 12:23 PM |
R39 is delusional. Even decades ago, Hershey's was waxy crap.

R40 Chocolate is supposed to be a snack and not a meal substitute! LOL It's candy, not arugula! LOL

Yorkie Bars (even the ones with raisins). Smuggled 20 of them home in my suitcase back in the 70s. Sadly, Nestle's bought them out and are probably shit now.
In college I lived on Nestle's Crunch Bars and orange soda (only decent stuff in the vending machine in the dorm).
| by Anonymous | reply 43 | October 4, 2021 5:02 PM |
How anyone can eat anything from Nestle’s with the blood they have on their hands I’ll never know. One of the first companies I actively boycotted.

THANK YOU, R35, for solving a years-long mystery for me: I could NOT remember the name of the Marathon bar, but used to love those amazing caramel braids! I'd describe it but no one knew what I meant.
Also, another vote for Wunderbars. Delicious!

Used to love frozen 3 Musketeer bars. But that was when my teeth were invincible.

Reese’s now, Reese’s forever. I’ve tried to develop a sophisticated palate for artisanal chocolate and it will never happen. Reese’s, Reese’s, Reese’s. As much for the peanut butter as the chocolate, truth be told.

i haven't had a Mars bar since i was a kid. i wonder why they stopped selling them in the US

Sees Milk chocolate almond turtles 🐢 which they call Buds.- Roasted Almonds covered in caramel and milk chocolate- YUM 🤤.

R51 I hear you. I love them so much I was inspired by the old commercials ("You got chocolate in my peanut butter!" "You got peanut butter on my chocolate!") and I would dump some milk chocolate chips into a jar of skippy and then spoon them out. Only a substitute of course, but it was an acceptable one.

They did something to them, besides change the name, they just taste off from years and years and years ago.

Why don't Chocolate Flakes (a type of chocolate bar) melt?

I LOVE Nestlé Chunky bars. They are a mid-century classic. What upsets me, is that they shrink every time I find them. Very soon, this fat whore is only going to find bite-sized version. Give me King size, dammit!

r59, I used to love Ice Cubes. I wonder if they still taste like they did in the 70s?
| by Anonymous | reply 61 | October 14, 2021 5:13 AM |
R59 They do. I found them at Giuliano's in Redondo Beach a while back and they were great. Really creamy and melt in your mouth (yah!).
