OP, finish the sentence: written by the incomparabile Brenda Russell who Cheryl........

by Anonymousreply 4March 14, 2021 12:44 AM

Sheryl reminds me of a young Susan Anton.

by Anonymousreply 7March 14, 2021 12:48 AM

The song was written by Brenda Russell and her then husband Brian Russell.

Cheryl married Brian in 1981.

R3, here are my answers.....

“Superman” by Celi Bee for 1977

“I Won’t Sleep On The Wet Spot No More” by Genya Raven for 1979

i'm streaming Cheryl Ladd on Apple Music while eating a tangerine.

by Anonymousreply 10March 14, 2021 8:19 PM

I think she was the voice of Josie on Josie and the Pussycats.

by Anonymousreply 11March 14, 2021 8:21 PM

Think It Over is surprisingly good.

...curiously and ruthlessly repaid by bedding Brenda's husband, Brian Russell. A betrayal that scandalized Hollywood and forever tarnished the "angel's" reputation.

What year did Sheryl Ladd die? She had the double mastectomy and then I don't remember what happened.

There's a whole album if this stuff? Do you have it, OP?

^^ This from a queen with the musical tastes of a thirteen year old school gurl.

by Anonymousreply 18January 1, 2022 9:26 PM

R18 has a taste for diarrhea

by Anonymousreply 19January 1, 2022 9:41 PM

She's a big Republican, as is her fellow Angel Jaclyn Smith.

by Anonymousreply 20January 1, 2022 9:50 PM

Thx r20 that doesn’t mean squat to me

by Anonymousreply 21January 1, 2022 10:01 PM

I remember receiving her album for Easter 1978.

I really like her Top 40 hit "Think It Over" written by Brenda Russell. I also like "You Turn Me Around".

Brenda Russell’s version of THINK IT OVER was leagues beyond Cheryl’s Royal Caribbean lounge singer version.

by Anonymousreply 25September 30, 2022 1:43 PM

Cheryl was the singing voice of Mallory in Josie in the Pussycats. Patrice Holloway, Valerie's singing voice, carries the vocals of everyone though. An album was released but I don't think they toured sadly.

by Anonymousreply 26September 30, 2022 1:58 PM

^^Actually Brenda’s recorded version of her own song sucks.

I have both albums tucked away in my parents' basement, along with a bunch of other embarrassing vinyl.

R27 r28 I should have added “in my opinion”, which I still stand by. I have never cared for Cheryl’s singing.

R29 it’s not embarrassing to me. I like both of their albums and stream em on Apple Music in 2022 when I’m in the mood.

Cheryl performing the song live on tv with a band in 1978.

What’s the thing she does with her jaw when she sings?

by Anonymousreply 34September 30, 2022 3:33 PM

^^She dislocates it to get a better vocal.

by Anonymousreply 35September 30, 2022 3:53 PM

It’s not working r35. She reminds me of Jessica Simpson when she sings.

by Anonymousreply 36September 30, 2022 5:19 PM

You said I was too young for you to have.

Hee hee!

by Anonymousreply 37September 30, 2022 5:53 PM

r11 r26 she was the singing vice of Melody.

by Anonymousreply 38September 30, 2022 8:43 PM

R38 Sorry I meant Melody not Mallory haha. One of those names I always mix up.

by Anonymousreply 39September 30, 2022 9:25 PM

I’m listening to her album Dance Forever tonight.

by Anonymousreply 40September 30, 2022 11:00 PM

Was she popular in Japan?

by Anonymousreply 41October 1, 2022 1:08 AM

I think she's prettier than Farrah but that's not an unpopular opinion.

by Anonymousreply 42October 1, 2022 1:13 AM

Cheryl (Melody) singing lead in this Josie and the Pussycats song. Usually Patrice Holloway (Valerie) is the lead. Both ladies had lonely voices.
