It was smegma OP, a gift from the chef

it sounds awful but will reserve judgment until I try it.

Could be good. Depends what kind of cheese. Maybe a mild milky one. Even cottage cheese?

Sounds like something that crazy lady on "The Vicar of Dibley" would make.

It's survivable but I don't recommend enduring it

I recently had this at a conference I attended. I was sitting at a table with 8 strangers and we were all trying to figure out what we were eating. It was a thin, sliced white cheese. Not much taste. It was weird.

Just as I was starting to accept broccoli slaw...

I always put grated parmesan in my cole slaw.

Pretty common in the UK, you can buy it in every supermarket.

Blue cheese, parmesan, or maybe goat cheese might be fine - though I would have serious reservations.
Cheddar, jack, American, mozzarella, gouda, brie, camembert or any of those types would probably be a bit gross.

Guess I stand corrected. It seems better cooks than I say a sharper cheese rather than a mild one with the slaw. I'm sure I'll like both.

DL fave, Ina Garten, has a blue cheese coleslaw recipe and it is is delicious. Left me a bit gassy though...

The cabbage or did the blue cheese make it... oh my god why am I discussing someone's gas... I must quit DL.... what have you made me become!

Agree that blue cheese can be good in a cole slaw. E.g., cabbage and apple cole slaw.

Very British. In supermarkets they try to trick you into buying it by placing it next to the ordinary coleslaw. Bastards!

I think the French make a version of it also, pretty sure that also has ham in it.

I'd crumble in bacon. Everything improves with bacon.
