How many people here are fans of hers? To be honest, she kind of lost me with her last couple of efforts, but I think everything she did up to "You are Free" was haunting and gorgeous. Her first three albums in particular are some of the most devastating records I recall from the mid-late '90s; that sparse guitar combined with her voice never ceases to give me chills. I've watched a few interviews with her from the past several years where she seems rather nutty/paranoid, but she was a self-admitted alcoholic for most of her early career, and I think her music speaks for itself in terms of her having emotional problems. Didn't she go through an oodd period where she was dating Giovanni Ribisi? She must've somehow managed to dodge the Scientology bullet in that relationship.

She looked rough after the break up with Ribisi. But she has a kid now, so she may have gotten her shit together.

I didn't give her last album enough listens. It didn't grab me. I still listen to her old stuff. My favorite songs of hers is probably "Song for Bobby", although there are many others that I think are masterpiece-ish. When I need a mood pick up song I listen to "Manhattan".

I stopped following her on IG when she became a hard line Bernie Bro.
