Ages ago, I bought a small candle, Trapp Private Gardens, #41 Black Pepper. I should see whether it is still available. Appreciate the ideas.

Henri Bendel's "Firewood" is lovely. It can be found, but it's no longer produced. So it's pricey. Archipelago Botanicals' "Stonehenge" is another favorite.

Not a candle snob, though I do find some of the cheaper brands burn badly and produce a lot of smoke/spot even with regular wick trimming. Bath and Body Works has some horrendous candles but I do like some of the single-jar ones they sell in their “White Barn” line. There is a lemon one and a cactus blossom one that smell really good.
Mrs. Meyer’s also makes great candles that are 100% soy wax. Their acorn spice candle is probably my favorite candle I’ve ever burned, and they only sell that scent during the fall months. I love the smell so much that I bought a fuck ton of them from their website last year so that I’d be able to burn them all year round. They offer soap and cleaning spray with the same scent, which I also hoard—which reminds me, it’s September, so I need to get on restocking.
