Brooke Shields as Brenda Starr
Daniel Martin
Should I or shouldn’t I? Brooke was at the height of her beauty. I could watch it for that alone. Is it really as bad as they say it is?

Wasn't Timothy Dalton a Shakespearian actor? Didn't he use to be partnered with Vanessa Redgrave? How embarassing.

She was hardly at the height of her beauty. I met her a few years ago(maybe 6 years ago) My husband was running a book signing when her book came out. She was absolutely stunning. And built like a brick shit house. She’s one of those woman who was always pretty but has grown into be breathtaking as she has aged.

She's still beautiful but her beauty peaked in her teen years. Endless Love was her at her most stunning despite being a laughably bad movie that killed her career.

Yeah she/was is beautiful, but she peaked around 1980.

The movie could have worked without the stupid comic comes to life thing. Do it just like one of the superhero franchises. Of course, now there’s no actress who is as stunning as Brooke was then. Who could be Brenda now? Wait, is the comic strip still around?

She was smart to go to stage and TV because while beautiful, she isn't the best actress and can't carry a movie by herself. Her most famous film roles (Pretty Baby, Blue Lagoon, Endless Love), she just kinda played an empty vessel who's beauty was the only defining traits. TV allowed her to branch into different things, she's far more better at comedy than drama for instance.

She was hysterical as the slutty trashy neighbor in The Middle.

I am not even sure it was around the time she made the movie, or least it was well past it peak popularity. That probably did not help fill seats.

I think her father (Francis Alexander Shields) and grandfather(Frank Shields) were both handsome.

After 1980 she just kept growwwing. Delicate features became harsh.

Here she is, age 56, showing her makeup routine. She looks pretty good for her age, and should be commended for putting out a video with no snapchat filters, no wrinkle-erasing lighting -- and especially for showing her face without ANY makeup.
Unlike Madge.

Horrible, but costumes by Bob Mackie and Starring Diana Scarwid playing a Faye Dunaway style dame. Not kidding.

R8 here in Massachusetts, we got Brenda Starr in the '90s. I was a teen then and became obsessed with that comic strip at that time. It was very soap opera-ish. I remember one storyline circa 1994/1995 involved a young, spoiled movie star who Brenda discovers is her long lost daughter or something. It was something out of SOAP DISH.

I liked it. Thought it was a nice throwback to the films of the 30s and 40s. And Timothy Dalton... oh I wish he was gay.

I'm one of her FANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I remember correctly, this movie was filmed 3 or 4 years before it's actual release. I vaguely remember a handful of interviews she did in the late 80s, lamenting the fact that this movie still hadn't been released so long after filming wrapped and saying that she felt it was a good film.
