To be fair, COVID killed the talk show AND the housewives.
I think that with a global pandemic, people just weren't in the mood for that kind of silliness and also the extravagance.
WWHL and the Housewives are suited for a time of prosperity and indulgence. Sort of like the 1980's and early 2010's.
The 2020's are a completely different era and mind set.

The Housewives had jumped the shark way before Covid. IMO, as soon as the shows became meta or self-referential (fighting on camera about each others' Twitter comments), there was no point to the shows. Also, everybody seemed broke instead of actually rich.
The talk show ... Andy doesn't really respect women and it shows. I think the talk show had some potential. It was a cute set, the "club house" and he did get some interesting guests like Ellen Barkin.
I'd like to see Andy get what I think he deserves.

I've wondered since quarantine "ended" (big quotes on that definition) how Bravo was justifying flying all these 'Housewives' in from CA, UT, GA, etc. (Most of the other franchises, they could drive or take a train.) To have Sutton from 'RHoBH' or Whitney from 'RHofSLC' fly in for a 20-minute interview was ludicrous, even before quarantine. Also, Andy has been having the cameras pan out on the audience in the recent eps, and there's maybe 30 people there. I've always heard the studio is teensy, but WTF...it's a shoebox.
Side note: Andy also insists on keeping DL un-fave's Chrissy Teigen's cookbook on the shelf behind the guests. I see it every time I watch an ep. No fucks given there...they're both cut from the same whore cloth, so I'm not sure why I'm surprised.

He has gone back to tagging it in the guides on to the successful shows (like the RHOBH reunion part one)- So he gets the ratings of the reunion everyone is watching. He show really only works are a Housewife/Bravo other shows - recap show. The smarter guest have caught on that no one is asking a question - they are reading questions Andy and team have written. I mean are we really dying to know what Oprah's housewife tag line would be? It is also not news that it is going away. If you saw last year's new show list for Bravo was something called Host my show or something like that - where Andy let other people host WWHL to find a replacement host. This was when he hosted Love Connection and got the Sirius deal. His Sirius channel is in dire straights and in danger of being collapses into another channel. MY guess is Andy killed that idea to cling to the only show that keeps him relevant. All of his other attempts....All of them have failed.

Bravo has been systematically cutting Andy loose for awhile. The way he brags you would (wrongly) think he runs everything. The only thing he produces these days are the Housewives Reunions and WWHL.....My favorite story someone shared about Andy was a fan saw Andy on a plane. He wanted to say hi but was kind of shy and Andy was watching something on his tablet. Fan goes over and Andy is watching a video of Andy. No Joke. That is who Andy is. Garbage.

Andy is distracted so easily and the show only works if he is a fan of the guest or senses possible gossip. The zoom interviews are awful and remind me of mandatory work happy hours.

It does look incredibly cheap to produce, and the set looks the size of my garage. I think this is more a case of the network wanting to distance themselves from him. I am sure there is a lot of behind-the-scenes drama and tea, and wouldn't be shocked if there was some controversy that will emerge in due time about him (we've heard rumblings for years).
He also seems completely disinterested on the show the past few seasons, you can physically see him disassociating and tuning out of what his guests are saying, staring at his little cue cards and growing impatient (especially with the Zoom era). I think his radio stuff is more lucrative and also less work.
The only thing I liked about it was that they sometimes got really fun guests (Jackee Harry, Amy Sedaris, Jennifer Coolidge, Patricia Clarkson, Connie Chung etc.) even in the years when they didn't actually have a huge project and wouldn't be on other late night shows. The Rosie O'Donnell and Joy Behar after show was a classic (seems to be removed from Youtube).

Cooper himself said it best. No one likes being "famous" more than Andy. Andy is a social climbing fame whore. We can pretty much prove he lied about having Covid for attention. He rehomed his dog because the Manny complained it was too much to watch the dog and Ben for him. He stole credit for creating the housewives franchise...he had nothing to do with it. Zip, zero, nada. It was created by Scott Dunlop who was a neighbor of Vicki Gunvelsons. He thought he would create a documentary called behind the gates. the real houswives of OC. This turned into the first RHOC. Andy didn't even host the first reunion show it was all of the wives in Vicki's back yard. Next year the show takes off and they do a proper reunion. At the time Bravo's slogan was Watch What Happens. So they called it The RHOC reunion a Watch What Happens event. Andy hosted it to save money and he was the VP of talent so he would interact with all the housewives. Then he pitched his own show. A sunday recap show called Watch What Happens Live. He tied it to RHOA which was the highest rated Bravo show on the network. He would have the show listed as 1.5 hours . The show and his half hour show. Because he did that he got the average ratings of RHOA and his show combined which inflated his ratings. In short. He is the scum of the earth.

In comparison to Underwood, Cohen is in his mid-50s, asthmatic, and a drug user (coke and pot). Cohen got covid and recovered at home in 11 days - reuniting with his son 11 days after announcing he had it, when the CDC guidelines were to wait 10-14 days after zero symptoms. Not superhuman Andy, He got it got over it and was covid free in record time. Trump was not even faster. Underwood was isolated for 14 days and not cleared to be back among people until March 31st. He interviewed William Shatner last week and laughed hysterically the whole time.
It seemed fake. At one point Shatner had a very funny joke (he referenced his famous Twilight Zone episode and said he wanted to press his nose against the window and just hoped nobody was looking back at him.) He only got the first part out about pressing his nose and AC burst out in laughter already not even waiting for the punchline.
