Have yet to see Logan, but I agree he was by far the worst thing about Narcos. So much so they basically sidelined his character in season 2 and let Pedro Pascal do all the heavy lifting.

R36 I have this pet theory that actors seem to have a wide audience appeal when cast in parts close to their real personalities.

Boyd comes across very intense and mysterious, a shady kind of a guy, and so putting him in heroic leads doesn't take. He's got a naturally sneering bitchface that is put to better use in antagonistic roles.

I have only found him good-looking in LOGAN and in HATFIELDS & MCCOYS. Interesting that he played a villainous, trigger-happy Southern boy in both (is that drawling hillbilly accent his natural one?)

What exactly was Holbrook's relationship to gay photographer David Armstrong?

They were called 'best friends' in the press, but a 30-year age gap between two people with that kind of relationship is very rare. Did the reportage get it right, or was this more of a mentor/patron type of deal? Armstrong put Boyd in a lot of photographs as his muso, which isn't typically platonic.

Poor Boyd was said to be cut up when David died, about three years ago now. It happened the same week that Lizzie Olsen decided to dump him (reasons unknown).
