Before the advent of the world wide web and Datalounge I would spend time on the alt.tasteless.jokes newsgroup and some of the funniest shit ever was posted on the topic of Barney. Reimagining him as a nefarious, child abusing ("I love YOU, YOU love ME!") cult leader and a threat to western civilization.

Can the DL collectively start something similar with this new incarnation of Barney?

He looks "sharper" to me like he's higher resolution, but not drastically different. That said, I'm 50, so Barney wasn't part of my youth and I've never watched the show.

The character looks like a plush toy come to live.

The original looked like a creepy pedo who gets paid to be an entertainer at a children's party.

Perhaps one where a child is murdered and it was definitely the man in the costume who did it.

The original Barney has a distinctive, unique look. This new version looks like every other cartoon character.

Oh well, I guess it’s easier to sell crap to kids when they instantly “recognize” the salesman.
