Drunk people in ultra-cold places do die of exposure. They pass out and freeze to death. Not saying that's what happened, but maybe a possibility?

From a guy on Facebopok who knew him
[quote] He’d been at a bar drinking with friends and left at 2 am not wearing a winter jacket, gloves, or any winter wear, despite a cap, in subzero temperatures.
Seriously? He probably died of hypothermia and frostbite.

^ but if that were the case surely the police would’ve already stated those details? The fact that they haven’t release any details surrounding the body or death makes me suspect more might be involved.

He likely froze to death and quickly. I live in Wisconsin and the temps were dire that night. Poor guy.

Weather channel is reporting that 26 people died in Buffalo due to the bad weather, and according to Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown, some victims “were trying to walk out during storm conditions, got disoriented and passed away out in the street." They had other people who died from "cardiac events" while they were trying to shovel or blow snow.

I think they'd wait for the autopsy, even if it were obvious. True, they could say "appear to be no foul play" but they don't all the time. So, I think it still be related to the weather.

Why is a 20 year old drinking in an American bar?
| by Anonymous | reply 18 | December 27, 2022 4:46 PM |
Because 20 year olds drink at American bars.

Who served him alcohol or who approved the alcohol. Someone should be liable because the law in all 50 states in 21 or over. only exceptions are states with laws that allow parents to approve people under 21 to drink, I think Ohio has such a law on teh books. But the parent or adult must be present.
| by Anonymous | reply 20 | December 27, 2022 5:03 PM |
R19, I don't know where the fuck you are from. Maybe Alaska. Here in tge continental states, those under 21 cannot drink in bars without a fake ID or a bartender that's fucked up.
| by Anonymous | reply 21 | December 27, 2022 5:23 PM |
Duh, R21. I'm saying that 20 year olds find ways to drink in bars, not that it's legal. Fake IDs, bars where they know someone that will look the other way, legal-aged friends who pass along a drink. It's not as common now, but kids still do it. Or he was just hammered before he went to the bar.

Sheriff apparently has video of him and is reporting he died of cold weather exposure:
[quote] "A progression of video footage from traffic and surveillance cameras tracked an individual matching Musser's description as he traveled alone and on foot, leading from downtown Stillwater towards the area where his body was ultimately located," the sheriff's office announced Wednesday.

[quote] Anni Weber (his aunt and godmother) said police have found video of George throughout town in the time after he left Brian's. She said her nephew had been drinking and was disoriented.
If it's proven that "Brian's Bar & Grill" served him, then the proprietor will more than likely face a wrongful death lawsuit. If the community is as tight-knit as everyone seems to be saying, then they obviously knew he was underage. Of course, maybe he brought his own flask.

[quote] Musser's father is the orchestra director at Stillwater High School.
Okay, maybe small town teacher's don't make that much, but they're going for a $100,000 GoFundMe for funeral expenses?
[quote] We know George has entered heaven and God and all of his family in heaven will take care of him until we can see him again. We are raising money to help his family with his funeral expenses and to help them through financially as they grieve the loss of an amazing son and brother.
They're already up to $53,000.

Terrible. I've gone out in the freezing cold when drunk to get fresh air, even walked around the block a couple times convinced I could "walk it off" some. But, I was never drunk enough to stray too far or not know to go back inside.
His body may have felt flush/warm from the alcohol and he maybe didn't feel anything at first. It's just awful that he set forth and couldn't find his way back and couldn't or didn't ask for help.
| by Anonymous | reply 29 | December 29, 2022 2:21 AM |
Why the hell do they need $100,000 to burry someone? If a poor person can get buried for a couple thousand then 100k is a grift.
Also, can we please push for more cremations? No use wasting good land on the dead when in 100 years everything that cares about any of us will be dead or too old to visit our graves.

There was a case a few years ago in Duluth, MN, where friends dropped off a girl after a night of partying and it was freezing cold. Dropped her off on the street and took off - no waiting to make sure she got inside like nearly all friends do. The girl went to the wrong house, one over from her building, and couldn't figure it out. She ended up passing out or laying down in the snow and freezing - not to death, but she had to have limbs amputated from the frostbite.

r34 you must be new here because that is what's happened to DL. Since 2016 we've been overrun with trolls. That is why people like OP put race into the title of this thread, to get a rise out of people. DL used to be a much more pleasant site and took a hard turn in 2016. Yes, Trump remains the object of my rage, he and his thugs have caused havoc.

r41 most young people go out and have a good time with their friends in bars. JFC sorry you never had any opportunities.

Seems like a lot of people here aren't familiar with college kids who are 20, and what they do on Christmas break. Yes, they have very convincing fake IDs. Yes, they go to bars with their friends to get drunk. Yes, they go to different bars - not just one.
If "Brians B&G" is the only place he patronized and which served him, then the family has a good case. If he went to other bars that night (like most college kids do) then the family has a much tougher time trying to prove which bar is responsible. (I've sat in on a jury for a case like this).

Same here. I partied hard in my 20s (and don't regret anything - it was a fabulous time in my life) but no matter how fucked up I got I always managed to get home safely. Or to a friend's place. Or to some guy's place and have great sex.
