Any Cart Narcs Fans Here?

Writer Robert Spencer

These videos make me happy . They shame people for not returning their shopping carts to the corrals.

I prefer the Karen videos. They make me laugh more.

When I was a kid I collected carts - the store didn't have corrals. They just want customers to do the work that a store employee used to do, so they have to pay fewer people.

I have noticed that the people who get enflamed when others fail to return carts to their appointed spaces often fall short on some other basic things. Likewise they can be a little too quick to share with a stranger this particular pet peeve.

Finding a cart where it doesn't belong is irksome, and clearly it's the right thing to do to find a space for it that doesn't inconvenience or endanger others. Sometimes, though, being a Cart Nazi is just cover for not caring about a lot of other simple courtesies.

Oh, it's alright, I tip poorly, have zero patience with people and animals? Hate 'em. But you see I'm a Cart Nazi, so it's okay.

I have a friend who, whenever he goes to Aldi, walks around the parking lot collecting carts to get the quarters back.

I always return my cart, before covid hit I would always go out of my way to take a cart inside with me while I was going inside even when I wasn't going to use a cart inside, now I really don't want to touch them. There was however one time I didn't, I was feeling like crap that day it was a few days after my mother had died and decided to hell with it, that was the only time and of course that was the day that a cart narc taps on my rolled up window to tell me I needed to put my cart in the corral. I just backed up and left as he was yelling that I was an asshole, which I was that day.

Mixed feeling on this. Some elderly people, such as my dad, actually like it when there is a cart available near him when he pulls into a handicap spot. He uses it to help him walk into the store instead of having to use his cane. He and my mom are both in their late 70's and have a hard time getting around.

Maybe they should put some of the cart return areas right next to the handicap spots as well.

These guys have balls of steel though. I'd be afraid of getting my ass kicked, or worse!
