Ant & Dec
James Williams
The ever-present duo of presenters. Tell us, British DLrs, did they ever fool around with each other?

I saw these guys in that Love, Actually movie and didn't realize they were real tv personalities.

Remember when Neil Patrick Harris tried to do an American version of their show and failed miserably?

Did Ant get over his drug & booze addictions? Dec is rather cute IMO.

The only bank they'll ever make is renting out forehead space.

For those who don’t know, they started off as a boy band and are now basically Ryan Seacrest. Saw them on Graham Norton not too long ago and they seemed nice enough.

I believe they are the hosts of the British version of "I'm a star get me out of here".

Hosts of Britain's Got Talent. This number is so much better than the Tony opening.

Apparently, Dec's elder brother Dermott, a 55 year-old priest who officiated Dec's wedding among many others, has just suddenly and unexpectedly died.
The Donnellys are an Irish Geordie family, and Dermott was a man of the cloth, so of course the funeral will be a massive affair. The brothers look so alike, don't they?

Ant has given a lovely statement to the press about Dermott. It’s good that Declan has him to lean on in this difficult time.
No-one expects to lose their healthy fifty-something sibling to a sudden brain haemorrhage.

I LOVE Ant & Dec. I suspect they are very British specific, can’t imagine them doing that great in the US. They are totally straight, platonic for me. One of those friendships of genuine love & affection but not at all romantically.

The one thing I don't like is on Britain's Got Talent where they have to make exaggerated facial reactions or talk into the camera from the side of the stage IN THE MIDDLE of someone's heartrending performance (I remember in Susan Boyle's famous performance they said 'you didn't expect that now, did ya? DID YA!?'). Terry Crews does it on the American one too, it's probably not their choice. Just find it a bit cringe.
Other than that they are harmless. I'm impressed by their longevity since there's usually someone hotter, younger, more diverse, or just someone who stands out more who could take their place in the pecking order. For two nice ordinary blokes who aren't exceptionally funny or good looking, they always seem to keep a job.

They have all the charm and sincerity and sex appeal of Ryan Seacrest. And even more smarminess.

They're on and off for years and consistently sexually available to each other no matter what other relationships they're in. It's an extremely novel arrangement but one that works for them. They're both extremely wealthy after decades of lowbrow TV gigs.

They each have enough forehead for an imax movie.

I guess the US version would be those Desus and Mero guys?

That's to do with a peculiarity about British audiences. We in the U.K. value in our entertainment a certain homely charm and relatability and a saucy wit, over plastic looks and verve and glossy manufactured professional 'cool' such as Americans favour.
It's that classic 19th Century end-of-the-pier, wink-nudge, cheeky-chappy tradition that Ant & Dec tap into and to which audiences respond.

Is that a hair hat on the one?

R19 they’re still on telly cos they’re part of nasty Peter Powell’s management agency - all of whose “stars” are walked by various PAs at the company. Powell has a monopoly on (dreary) ITV talent. He “married” Anthea Turner (!), Ant one of the PAs, and outed gay Philip Schofield “went out” with Caron Keating.

That drag number was fabulous. They fully committed and they looked great.

It's so funny that the "V" symbol would not have to be blurred out in the US, but has to be in the UK.
