Supposedly by someone claiming they were from the Fraud Department of her bank, but my guess is it was really a trick or a drug dealer who stole her wallet or emptied her safe or rolled her.

I work for a bank and clients fall for this all time. By the way, the bank has no liability here since we were not even involved in the transactions, client has to eat the loss. They willingly gave out their passcodes and personal info. Also why doesn't Andy have a business manager to handle this stuff for him. That in itself is suspicious. We also warn clients about this constantly but they don't listen. It's all part of the "wont happen to me" syndrome.

I believe it because I've read of so many others failing for the same scam. Also there is no profit in manufacturing a fake story that makes himself look so gullible or careless.
