American Suburbs Have Become a Ponzi Scheme
Daniel Martin
Once the quintessential image of the American dream, suburban neighborhoods now reveal a systemic racial disparity, with new Black and Brown residents struggling to deal with the declining conditions left by white occupants who have moved on and up. In his new book "Disillusioned," education reporter Benjamin Herold looks at five suburbs across the country.

Oh look, a NEW oppression done to those always-suffering, never helped American black people. They storm the 'burbs, whites move away but it's all due to racism, of course, due to those evil chalk babies "moving on and up". Will the suffering NEVER end?
Aren't black people in Harlem STILL bitching about whites moving into the neighborhood? American black people are forever craving a separate but equal existence based on whatever they can be given or whatever can be ceded to them. Now, they're bitching about white folks leaving the suburbs. What the FUCK do they want already, aside from white people ceasing to exist. Which, fortunately, isn't going to happen. EVAH.

Don't worry. The Venezuelan gangs crossing Joe's open borders will improve the neighborhoods. They're big on renovation.

R1 you’ve got it wrong. They want “separate but superior” now.

I watched the video at OP but this kid can't be the only Black kid in that school, correct? Because if it's a trend and all of the Black students are being singled out for discipline then that's a problem. The way the video is structured it doesn't appear there is any independent corroboration of this young man's persecution. There must be some Black teachers, or other sympathetic allies who can weigh in on this.

People seem incapable of recognizing subtle nuances in disparate consequences of “ bad behavior “ in schools .
Aside from R 1, overt racist, many posters oversimplify the issue. To whine about “ what do they want now???” reminds me of something Dr. King said . Paraphrasing
Dr King said that many people thought the blacks were just “.blowing off steam” in the Watts riots, and they just needed to be patient and wait , and everything would be ok. They just had to wait.
There are no easy answers. This author is asking the right questions. Questions that covert racists don’t even want to acknowledge

How is R1 racist R14? Because it's strong language? Because "black" was typed? Please explain the actual racism in the post.

R 15: if you have to have someone explain where the racism is in R 1’s post……… you’re incapable of understanding anything .
