I liked Nitro best. Looked multiracial and sort of pretty boy. Also liked Laser. Hate to admit this but as a lark a friend and I went to the American Gladiators tour around 1991 in Madison Square Garden. We stayed about an hour. Too many attendees were taking it seriously.

This show was my jam! USA network would play it at 9 and 10am in the summers when I was a kid and I would watch both episodes 5 days a week. Loved it. Laser was my favorite but Gemini was cool as well. I thought Nitro was good looking- but such a jerk. Turbo was gorgeous. Tower and Viper weren't bad looking. Thunder reminded me of a Clydesdale.
As for the women- Ice, Zap, and Blaze were my favs. I remember Diamond had massive boobs, but was ugly.
Anyone remember the episode where Turbo attacked a contestant (kyler Storm I think was his name) during Swingshot? The Ref Larry Thompson had to yell at him. Definite road rage going on then.
And I think contestant Wesley 'two scoops' berry murdered someone.

The events I wanted to compete in: Assault, Power Ball, Joust, Swingshot, and Breakthrough and Conquer. Maybe Hang Tough, the Wall, or the Pyramid.
Definitely not Sky Track or Whiplash. Atlasphere seemed like fun (hamster cages!) but was probably very difficult to get them to stay in the pods when you were trying to get points.

Turbo kind of looks like Reb Brown in the face. He was huge and jacked up on steroids in season 2 (his debut season) and got progressively smaller as the years went on. I guess he cut out the heavy juicing. Here he is with his niece when she was a kid.

Laser was soooooo hot, but obviously on roids during seasons 2-4. He wore the most revealing costumes and they occasionally would show him shirtless. Loved his sexy voice too. Dan Clark (nitro) and his roommate at the time Laser made a gay wrestling video for BG East before they hit it big on AG. They didnt show much, but they also appeared together in various episodes of first and ten on hbo as extras. Wouldn’t surprise me if they were bisexual, especially Nitro. He admitted doing steroids and also said he all the gladiators were having sex all the time with each other and groupies. Though ZAp said most of the females were lesbian she said none of the men were gay. Nitro’s face changed a lot during the show - looks kind of beat up.

I remember there was a cheesy lip synching show on MTV in the 90s where people competed to win a prize for the best lip synching performance. I remember one episode that featured Turbo as a judge, and there was a lip synching boy band. At the end of their number, one of the boys stepped off stage and handed Turbo a rose. Turbo looked like he wanted to take that little twink over his shoulder and have his way with him.

He was/is a born again Christian after he left AG.
He appeared on "The 700 Club" with Pat Robertson & looked slimmed down from his AG days. I almost wouldn't have recognized him.
