It’s quite disconcerting that people on here are calling those of us who question the veracity of this story, rape aplologists.

I enjoyed Driver on GIRLS, that in no way means that I support him as an individual who may have committed rape. I have nothing invested in his career, or his future. I could give a flying fuck as to whether or not Star Wars, TFA, is a success. I’m not a Star Wars fan girl, even though I will watch the films within the franchise, just like I watch the Bond/007 films. At this point, I watch them because they are films within franchises that I’ve been watching since I was a child. Same with Star Trek, Batman, Superman, etc. The point is that the franchises themselves, are obviously sustainable, regardless of my feelings about the actors. Out of these franchises I’ve just named, the only actors who I actually followed outside of the franchises, were Carrie Fischer, Jack Nicholson, Gene Hackman, & Christian Bale.

I have no problem with reserving an opinion regarding Driver, or disbelieving this rape claim, until further notice. No one here knows shit about who OP is, or his true motives. He can be telling us the truth regarding that someone told him this. Even so, he himself has no proof that this happened. Or, he can be completely full of shit and trolling us.

If Driver is raping women, anally, or otherwise, then I hope he is called out for it, and that women who have suffered at his whims come forward and tell their stories. I am willing to believe men and women who come forward publicly, once I’ve read about the circumstances surrounding their claim. If they’re credible, then they’re credible.

I’m not a fucking rape apologist, due to having certain standards set. We’re in a very interesting climate presently, and whether we like it or not, some people might end up being accused of something that they’ve never done. Today it’s Adam Driver, tomorrow it could be you.
