He never learned to modify his image little enough to keep fans and significant enough to move on. His music never seemed to improve like a lot of other 80s acts like DM, the Cure, Inxs, Joy Division/New Order, etc. i don’t think he could write or produce. Ant also went male pattern bald early and that was bad news in an era featuring outlandish hair. R26 is right his looks had no staying power.
