A clue is that he’s ballooned in recent photos due to the very powerful steroids they’re using to control it. You’ll struggle to find a recent appearance where his face and stomach isn’t swollen. I believe he gave some reason for this but the story he told was a complete fabrication.

I hate to say it, because I wouldn't wish cancer on (almost) anyone, but I agree with those guessing Pedro Pascal. I don't really pay attention to him, but a few weeks ago, I saw him in the ad for the "Merge Mansion" game and couldn't believe how plump and aged he was, moreso than he was in the ads for "The Last of Us". Not sure of his actual age, but he's youngish and done both movies and TV.

20's is definitely "young" not "young-ish", forties is "young-ish" at least by the standards of people with serious illnesses. Thirties are a matter of opinion.
Look, I'm an RN, my colleagues and I tend to think that anyone under 70 is too young to have cancer or anything seriously life-threatening. Well, unless the person in question made themselves old before their time with hard living.

In recent pictures the past few months Madden looks really thin and gaunt in the face. Like he lost a lot of weight. I thought of Boseman when I saw him. But I don't think the OP is talking about him. OP said the actor is bloated and puffy because he is taking so many steroids for his illness.

People with most cancers usually lose weight. Steroids, which cause the bloated look, are usually used for the blood and lymph cancers… leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma. Some of those can be chronic in nature.
