Are we to believe that gay Benoit Blanc, who cares enough about art that he is friends with Sondheim, would let the Mona Lisa be destroyed?

Or did he somehow swap out the painting before he gave Helen that glass of whiskey?

There are a few hints that the painting is a copy.

The billionaire is a dimwit who is more interested in showing off the fancy protective device (that fails anyway). Easy thing for the Louvre to "loan" him a fake.

What R2 said. Ridiculous movie filled with comments and actions that are not believable, but are there to muddy the mystery.

One key example: Benoit is in the tub and is told someone is there with a box. The viewer is led to believe it can’t be Andi/Helen because she destroyed her box to get the invitation. But, sure enough, we later see that it WAS Helen with the box. In what fucking world would she have carried that stupid box to Benoit’s place. She would have brought the invitation only.

Also, the stupid spinning by Birdie right before the big idiot was killed was so obviously an attempt at distraction. My partner and I were watching for it and saw Miles hand him the drink. That in itself was unbelievable the way he handed it to the steroidal moron who just took it. Not natural.

Very amateurish movie making.
