A Gay Religion

Writer James Williams

Why don't we start a religion in the gay community that believes in a Man and a Man being together? This would bypass all the legal and governmental issues of discrimination, if you're fired for being gay you simply say it was "because I'm a... Gaythian...Gayish." Thoughts? Any Prophets in the house speaking to Gay Jesus?

I heard about a religion founded by a confirmed bachelor who hung around exclusively with young men (one of whom was called beloved) and a fag hag.

Being gay has one great benefit: In order to accept yourself, and your sexual urges, you have to reject everybody's opinon around you who don't approve of you and your desires. Because of that religion has no hold over, or is of no use to, anyone who loves and respects himself, because all religions are based on doubt, shame, and insecurity that lead to a desperate need for proper guidance.

"All religions are based on doubt, shame, and insecurity that lead to a desperate need for proper guidance"

You need to learn something about world religions. Abrahamic and Indian religions are not all there is in this world.

I'm in, as a recognized religion in the U.S. you can opt out from the Draft (if they ever reinstate it) AKA Mormons, and no taxes for the Church of gays.

Just to avoid confusion, The Satanic Temple is NOT the same as the Church of Satan, though both broadly agree about doctrine (esp. the writings of Anton LaVay). On paper, they look quite similar, but in practice each tends to appeal to distinctly different personality types.

Wasn't Classical Greek religion the original gay religion? Or at the very least, it was not afraid of homosexuality like these dreadful Semitic religions.

Christianity arguably accelerated the decline of the Roman Empire -- gay sex was a traditional & integral part of Greco-Roman military life, and Christian condemnation of it had a major negative impact on morale among Roman soldiers.

What, you think you're too good for Pastafarianism?

[quote] You need to learn something about world religions.

Oh really? A religion needs followers and a leader who tells his followers what to do. You really believe that strong minded people need someone else to tell them how to live their lives? Stupid, insecure idiots need religion to tell them what's right and what's wrong for them.

Gay Religion would be at best silly and campy performance art, but most likely be a scam of a cult that ends with having to drink poisoned Mimosas instead of Kool-Aid.

Unitarian? Unitarian Universalist?

Hand in your gay card OP! There’s been dozens of gay religions created. And just that of St Peter & Paul.

More recently there was Stefan George’s & that of Elisàr von Kupffer. The way the local council has mismanaged and heterosexualised the Elisarion is a scandal!

Here’s a page on Elisàr’s famous cyclorama. They’re seeking donations for its restoration.

Have you never heard of the Metropolitan Community Church?

The Metropolitan Community Church (MCC) founded in 1968 by a gay minister is a gay based religion, although open to all, has branches all over Canada (where I live) and the USA. I've attended them.

I've attended DIGNITY religious services and meeting for gay Catholics. The Mass is always celebrated by a gay priest. It helped me a lot during my coming out process.

It’s very difficult to compete with the campest of them all: the Church of Rome.

I practice gay-ism, which means I have the right to turn Christians away from bakeries!!!! Most of them are fat as hell anyway, they don't need baked goods.

How soon we forget Troy Perry

by Anonymousreply 31July 31, 2018 5:38 AM

You should join the Alexander Order, OP. They’ve got a castle and everything. Roger Peyrefitti, who used to collect a pine cone for every boy he had, was an esteemed member.

Does the new religious freedom task force apply to gayism?

by Anonymousreply 34August 2, 2018 4:50 PM

There are already pro-gay religions where you can argue exactly what you said, OP.

Just because Sessions doesn't think things through or wants to pervert the Constitution doesn't mean everyone else does.

by Anonymousreply 35August 2, 2018 5:09 PM

Gaythian. I like the sound of that.
