'Doing Time on Maple Drive'
James Williams
This 1990s TV movie was recommended on one of the movie threads. I watched it last night and found it interesting.
Imagine a Great-Valu version of "Ordinary People," down to Bibi Besch doing her best Beth Jarrett. In this case, there's no dead son but three young adult children, all of whom are disappointing their suburban parents in their own way. The youngest son is gay and engaged to a woman (Lori Laughlin, who's actually one of the best things in the movie). A very young Jim Carrey plays a dramatic role, the screwup older son who's a problem drinker. He's also excellent.
Plus a ton of 1990s "fashion."
The copy on YouTube is very good. Has anyone else seen this?

Janice Lynde was brilliant in this, as the sister in law.

I really enjoyed this film and I thought the subject matter of a dysfunctional family being forced to confront their imperfection was handled well. Jim Carrey was a standout.
